Is it really our business what people do? Personally, I've known a few who were gay and they were great people.

Do they really need us preaching at them? I don't think so. I'm pretty sure they already know how some Christians feel about it.

Why not just love them and be friends? I understand that not all give them grief but a lot do.

Nope, it is not our business what people do in their own homes! I agree with this! But, I also do not see the need in "Parading your sexual preference" either!

I too, have met gays who were just good people. I do not have problems with a person based upon sexual preferences. It is WHO they are not WHO they prefer!

The only time I have "preached" at them is when I have been asked what the Bible says about this topic. I will not judge them as it is not my place to do so.

Now, as for the scriptures on this? There are many and they PROVE God's distaste for this behavior...it is not acceptable in the eyes of God. Umm, I think Sodom and Gemorrah comes to mind.

In as much, I pray for them as I cannot change another person! I do not wish too! But, God can!

It does happen to be sin, so we can't endorse it, but it isn't really any different from any other sin, and we are all sinners. We just try to draw people closer to Jesus, and they usually get convicted of their own sin.

Sometimes there is a need to confront a person, but we need to listen for the Lord's direction instead of just jump in a person's face, and people who don't know the Lord's voice from their own flesh need to just keep their mouths shut. The problem is that they are the ones who yell the loudest

In most churches people are not taught how to hear the Lord's voice. This is the crux of the problem.

I think also that a lot of people are just afraid of them. This is sometimes because they are insecure in their own sexuality. There are probably also a lot of men who were molested as a child who never had the guts to speak up about it.

I used to have an extreme dislike for homosexuals, but then someone said something about being insecure in my own sexuality. I though about that, and came to the conclusion that this was not the case. I don't know why I felt such dislike, but I realized then that I had nothing to fear from these people. They have no control over me. They are not rapists.

I lightened up at that point.

I am a catholic and I really do not care what they do sexually, BUT! when they start demanding the same things a straight couple receive, then it's time their nipped in the bud, every country in the world that has fallen falls from immoral activities, and do not think it can't happen to the USA or any other country because it has and it will, and you don't need a bible to know it either because history proves it every time, Riodejaniro today fits the same category as Sodom & Gommora, and there are other countries that follow close behind.

I seem to recall some parts in the Bible about removing planks from eyes before speaking of specks in those of others, of throwing stones only when one is without sin, etc.

Isn't the point that none of us is perfect by a Biblical standard, therefore none of us has the right to judge? And isn't that why God is the only one who is supposed to do it? I don't think Christianity should have EVER become a religion - just look at what happens when you get groups of people trying to decide things for everyone else instead of each person finding the "truth" for himself.

I can't remember one Christian here who has ever brought the subject up. What I have seen are people who are accusative towards Christians regarding the subject, and Christians defending their beliefs as a result.

So why is it that everyone else keeps making a big deal over homosexuality?

Are they and their supporters aggressively trying to gain a greater degree of cultural acceptance while making Christians the bad guys in this endeavor?

This is exactly the same process Hitler used to rally the German people behind what he wanted by blaming the Jews for all their problems and lack of social progress.

Well, I just don't understand what all the fuss is about. Sexual intercourse has never been and never will be an intellectual process..... and when beautiful caring people are so willing to share their love, seems a pity not to respond appropriately once in a while.

If Christianity is about throwing stones.. then I understand the ardent opposition.

to be honest, i don't make a big deal out of it and i just wish that EVERYONE's sexual choices remained private issues instead of making it public topic of the day!

if they don't want to hear how people feel about it, or why Christians may feel it is a sin, or what the bible has to say about it... then don't ask us why we think it is 'right or wrong'

I don't bring my sexuality choices to the floor of any conversation, and i just don't understand why other people feel it is necessary for everyone to know what they prefer.... why not just keep private things private and get past wanting others to 'accept' what they do or don't do... yanno?

if someone is doing something HARMFUL to themselves and others, as human beings, isn't it our DUTY to tell them about it, and maybe give them something to think about changing before continuing ???? The fact that they may be great people is another matter. A lot of GREAT people have committed suicide.. a lot of GREAT people have died in a drunk driving accident which they caused.....a lot of GREAT people have made some GREAT mistakes.....homosexuality is a harmful act that is not healthy to be practiced. Poison is a GREAT thing if you are trying to rid your house of insects, but there is a WARNING LABEL on it.....if it is used incorrectly, it is harmful if not deadly....catch my drift? I know that gays are GREAT people and BECAUSE I love them, I am warning them of the mistake they are living...........

I don't have anything against them as people, but their choice is an abomination to the Lord. If you are a Christian you should know that also.

BNecause aversion to it is more cultural than religious. This has more to do with English and Euro history rather than Christianity.
