Yes, you can take pretty much any food EXCEPT food that is a liquid or gel. This would mean stuff like yogurt, peanut butter, almond butter, cream cheese, jelly, jam, etc. Now, if you have a sandwich that has, say, peanut butter on it, that's fine... but an actual jar of peanut butter isn't allowed unless the jar itself is 3.4 ounces or less.
And any drink you get will have to be purchased AFTER going through security or you could just get it while you're on the plane. For all the rules go to http://www.tsa.gov and go to 'travelers' there. You may also want to call ahead and check with your airline or security at the airport you're going to be traveling out of.
I hope this helps!

I would think yes -- I often bring crackers, chips, etc in my backpack that I carry on. Also I have seen many people buy a meal inside the secure part of the airport and bring it on the flight to eat at meal time.
Hope this helps

Check with your airline - depending on the length of your flight, and if your flying at meal time, you may be getting a meal on board. If not, I can't see any reason for not bringing your own food, snacks and drinks on with you. When we have flown interstate here, we were allowed our own food.
If its an international flight you may have to declare any food and drinks when you land to see if its OK to take through.
***Depending on where you are and where your flying to, there may be "Terrorist Alert" Restrictions on the amount of fluids that you can take with you onto the plane.

Yeah, you can definately. I was on a plane about 2 weeks ago, and they didnt have any problems with it. Liquids like soda or juice, maybe, but you can get those whenever you want on the plane anyways so it shouldnt matter too much.
Also, my trip was international if its any help.
But yeah, definately bring food. Happy flying.

You can take snacks from home, and you can buy food at the airport and you can eat it while you wait for the plane to board or they might let you eat on the plane.

I doubt you can bring food you packed, but you can if you bought it in one of the stores that are past the security checkpoint (their prices are higher then they would be at one of their actual locales, but it's the only way to avoid hunger AND gross airplane food!)
