I've heard this before, but I don't get it, maybe I'm slow but I don't get it!!

Say you have a little hole in the seam of your blouse, under your arm. If you get out your sewing kit & put in one stitch, you fix it. If you fix it "in time" (soon enough), you won't have to put in 9 stitches!

basically what it means that if you do something right the first time.... you won't have to re-do it...example= you are sewing something and you make a bad stitch .. you have to take that out and maybe a few after it ( because it may make the item crooked) and then re-sew all you have done to that point

its about knitting
if the stitches are all done correctly you wont have to undo alot to make it right

its sorta like the measure twice cut once thing.

means be accuratethe first time and you wont waste it fixing what you messed up

It means if you fix a problem early, when you catch it, instead of waiting, it will be easier to fix.
