No you are not a mix.
A true Christian is a person who has put his or her faith and trust in the person of Jesus Christ and fact that He died on the cross as payment for sins and rose again on the third day to obtain victory over death and to give eternal life to all who believe in Him. John 1:12 tells us: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” A true Christian is indeed a child of God, a part of God’s true family, and one who has been given new life in Christ. The mark of a true Christian is love for others and obedience to God’s Word (1 John 2:4; 1 John 2:10).

First of all Christianity uses both the Old and New Testament taken in proper context. Jesus Himself said:
(John 5:39 KJV) Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
All they had at the time Jesus was here was the Old Testament.
Next the reason why denominations came up is two fold.
1. People seldom search the scriptures to see if the Ministers are teaching in proper context.
2. Religious leaders that tried to build their own religions up instead of pushing the importance of individual study of the word of God.
Myself I go to a Full Gospel Church that pushed the people to double check everything that is taught.
There is only One Holy Spirit and therefore only one proper interpretation of the Word of God.

"A mix of Catholics, Protestants, and East Orthodox correct?"
It'd be easier to say that an Xian is one who has a central belief in the Jesus 'they' called The Christ.
"Am I a mix of those?"
Not necessarily - you're more likely to be a follower of the breed/strain/sect that spins you the best scam.

If you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died on the Cross for your sins and that He rose again on the third day, and if you have trusted your life to Him, you are a Christian. What religion you are has nothing to do with it.

Everyone has their own idea on who is and who is not.
I think it depends on those who can recognize the Kingdom Gospel as the original and only Gospel.
That one is about seeking that Kingdom (a treasure hid in a field)
First 3 Chapters of Gospel Enigma explain this point. A fun read too... and it's free.

Just call yourself a "follower of Jesus".
They all believe in the same Jesus.
