troubling part is assigning the HDMI ports or whatever you would like to call it. the owners manual is quite vague. I have had denon before and had no problems, but thank you, I will keep trying.

The confusing part is that each manufacturer uses different terms or labels for the same thing. You kind of have to have an understanding of the terminology and how the system functions which comes with experience. I'm not sure calling Firedog is the solution as most retail/chain installers are amateurs and will do an amateur, overpriced setup for you. As for the HDMI setup, don't be afraid to experiment as a lot of figuring it out is trial & error.
Good luck...

Having worked in audio for about 10 years I have hooked up and set up many brands in the course of setting up displays and occasionally helping out with installations. I find Denon to be comparatively easy. You don't specify what part of the set up you are having trouble with. Try rereading the manual very carefully. If you purchased the receiver from a local retailer, ask for their help over the phone. They should be able to coach you through your problem. If you still have difficulty it may be a good idea to get someone like firedog to help.

Hi there .Here is a diagram showing how all the parts of a Home Theater are put together with all the different cables used. I hope this helps.
