First of all, it's okay to be scared. That is acknowledging the problem. You have already accomplished 50% of the solution. You are a step beyond denial that you have an issue. I congratulate you for posting your question. The remaining 50% is up to you, almost entirely. When I quit drinking, I finally figured out how the beer mysteriously was getting into our home: I was buying it and bringing it back here. Duh. So that is another 20% of the problem: stop bringing it home. We are at 70% of problem solved here. 10% is going to go for being sincere in your desire to quit. It has to be important to you to stop. Just give the whole matter some serious thought and I think you will probably be able to come up with the 10% needed here. I would ask God with everything you have inside you to help you stop drinking, period. That is good for 10% more if you can get to the point where you mean it when you ask Him. Now we are coming down the home stretch because we are at only 10% remaining. That 10% is the best part of all because it represents all the little things you can find that will help you stay focused on being sober from now on. You can tell your friends the time has come for you to quit alcohol in your life and move on. (5%) You can find substitute things to drink so you will not be tempted. (3% You can make sure either you call someone you love or they call you every night fir the first month or so, to make certain you are staying with the program. (2%) And finally, last but not least, you will not sit up til all hours, missing your good night's sleep and throwing off your good judgment the next day. (1%)
There. That is your 100% committment to sobriety. Review it carefully and adjust the percentages so they make sense to you and just begin your walk away from alcohol.

There are many meetings, many doors, one answer willingness rather than willfulness. Do you want to stop? Get to a meeting. Can't find one? Look in your phone book. It doesn't happen overnight. Neither did the problem. The solution's not good for next year, or even the day after tomorrow, but just the next twenty-four hours, one day, one hour at a time. Do it now. It's not a matter of your will power, but the won't power.
You can't stop by cutting down, and you definitely won't stop by thinking about the next one, even if you drink or use but once a day or on weekend binges.
When you're run over by a freight train, it's not the caboose that does the damage.

hooked on phonics?!
no seriously tho- you have to stop going out so much. Change you routine. Pick up some new habits. Drowning your sorrows and celebrating your achievements with a bottle is a dead end-quite literally.Good luck and bless you (I know you didn't sneeze but I'm saying bless you anyway!)

Stop buying wine.
Go to an AA meeting and get tips on what you can do.
Get a support network together-friends, family that you can call on when you are too stressed or are feeling out of control.
Eat a good meal.
Get a good night's rest.
Pray.
