It drives fine on the flats but when going up hill it will slow to 15 to 20 mile an hour but you can feel plenty of power in the motor, but no power to tranny?

Two things come to mind clogged fuel filter and clogged exhaust? Happy 21st birthady Pathfinder! Just think how good you would look in a new 2007 or 2008 pathfinder with 265 hp V-6 or 305 HP V-8 engine option.

I would check timing belt but this would mean your motor would lack power especialy at lower RPM's and may make a pining noise. If it is the transmission then it could be slippage in the torque converter, if the RPM's pick up lot without gaining speed this is probably your problem. It is normal for the RPM's to vary only slightly without an increase in speed, maybe 300-400RPM's would be normal but if more you may have a problem. That's if it is a automatic anyways but if it is manual the RPM's shouldn't vary at all. Good luck!
