My husband has recently been suffering from these awful, debilitating headaches that last for weeks. He can't take any over the counter pain meds because they really upset his stomach, and perscriptions like T3 are even worse...plus they don't help. He's had a CT scan and everything is normal, he's tried getting a lot of sleep, drinking caffine and using Head On, antihistamines, decongestants and steroid nasal spray but nothing really seems to help.

The pain seems like it could be sinus, and it doesn't always stay in the same place. It can be on one side of his forehead, or both, the top of his head, behind his eyes etc.

Any suggestions anyone?

I definitely suggest seeing another doctor. Just because one doctor says everything looks fine doesn't mean everything is fine. If his CT came back clear, what does his bloodwork say, or how about a MRI? There are a ton of tests he could take and while the medical bills could mount up, wouldn't the possiblity of a cure be worth it? Hope he gets to feeling better soon!

Your husband could be experiencing Migraines and normal medicaitons will not touch a migraine. Migraines are sometimes caused from the blood vessels tightening up that lead to the head area. There is special head pills that you can take that will open these blood vessels back up and help releave the symptoms but they are perscriptions. Also, Magnesium and Vitamin B6 are very good for headaches. I was in an auto accident last year. I had never had a headache until that accident and then I have had a continuous one since then. I am on Migraine pills for when the headache gets too bad to tolerate as well as my doctor has me on 1000 mg's of Magnesium a day and a perscription strength Vitamin B6 pill daily too. So far my headaches are tollerable now but not gone. Concussions are nasty things. Your husband most likely needs to see a head specialist and find out the reason for those headaches. Sometimes headaches can be caused from very simple things like too much sodium or carbonation and not enough water in our system. A headache specialist would be the best person to find the cause for them.

Sorry to hear about your husbands headaches, i used to get all types of headaches all the time, stress ones, sinus ones and migraine ones. I think some of my headaches were due to drinking to much caffeine and sleeping for to long, always felt like cr - p if i slept for more than 9 hours. I did cut down on caffeine & sleep & i didn't get any more pounding headaches when i woke up.But there was another factor, my ' eyes ' . I went to see an optition and he told me that i had to wear specs, but to cut it short, my headaches went away after a few days.
Has your husband been for a eye check up recentley ?
perhaps he has blocked sinuses, (get treatment for that)

Well i hope this will help you. good luck

the doctor needs to do an MRI of the brain. A ct will not pick up on somethings that could be wrong. Has he tried Excedrin Migraine?
