A pregnant woman is killed by someone and the infant child dies. how many states have laws charging the killer with the murder of both the parent and the unborn child?

This law has gotten complicated with many pro-choice people opposed to it, because they believe the precedence of this law could be used to outlaw abortions.

They will get charged for mom everytime but I think for the infant it depends on how close to the due date she is. A baby that could have survived outside the womb may cause the murder to be charged with the murder of the baby as well. I don't know how many states have laws on the books that define the age where a fetus is a victim as well.

all states do..that is why they are usually charged with 2 counts of murder

I think its all of them. President Bush signed the Fetal Homicide Bill last year or the year before.
