That is a great example of us NOT having Free Will. Did Mary have a choice in bearing a baby? No she had no choice.

The Virgin Mary did have free will. She said yes to God's messenger Gabriel in asking her to the Mother of God. (Jesus 2nd person of the Trinity being born as man).
She was the best of mothers and would have and did do everything she could as a good mother.
Today's world and generation have a warped since of Motherhood.

What makes you think she did not have "free will"? I believe everyone does and so did she. I think if she would have told the Lord, she did not want to, then he would have found someone else to carry the baby. He chose her because he knew that she was obedient and would accept the call to be the mother of the Savior. THere is not much said about her, but I believe that she was in fact given a choice.

Mary had the power of free will, instead of choosing not to keep the baby she chose to have the baby. She also had the power of grace, mercy, love and a huge amount of faith and hope. Her free will helped her to decide to bear Jesus.

God never goes against free will. Everyone always has a choice. Where does it say she had no choice?

When God, in the beginning, created man, he made him subject to his own free choice. (Sirach 15:14)

God created all men and women (including the Blessed Virgin Mary) rational beings, conferring on them the dignity of persons who can initiate and control their own actions.

"God willed that man should be 'left in the hand of his own counsel,' so that he might of his own accord seek his Creator and freely attain his full and blessed perfection by cleaving to him."

In other words, God has set down a law of love and He (or She) has been written this law onto our hearts.

We have been given free will and responsibility.

We can choose to follow the law of love, be happy, and be with God forever.

Or we can choose to break the law of love, be miserable, and be separated from God forever.

God will respect our free will choice.

With love in Christ.

She did have free will , and she chose to have the baby .

She would never have killed her self because it would have been against her religion and she would have never entered into Heaven.

Luke 1:38
Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Did she not exercise her 'free will' by taking the baby to term and deciding 'beforehand' to become pregnant?

I wonder why she sang a song celebrating the wonder of it all. Could it be she didn't mind being the blessed of all women.
