Southwest doesn't do e-mail, just snail mail. Their reasoning for it, according to their website, is that they consider e-mail to be too impersonal. I wrote a complaint letter to them a couple of years ago and responded quicker than I thought they were going to though, so they have a fast turn-around time on letters.

Don't send a complaint by email, it is too easily lost or deleted. Send a letter instead. It is more personal and will need to be filed by the receiver which should guarantee an acknowledgement at least.

You didn't mention why you are unable to call them or go to the airport in person. Obviously the item that broke was very valuable to you and you should make sure that you convey that when you speak to the airline. Just be prepared because one of the first things they may say to you is "why didn't you request that it be in the cabin with you" If it fits in luggage (spelled with two g's by the way) than chances are good that it would have fit in an overhead compartment. Their contact information is definately located on their website.
I wish you the best of luck!

They don't have complaints by email, mostly because they don't GET COMPLAINTS!!! They are one of the top airlines, maybe you shouldn't have put something in there breakable. Either take on your carry on or wrap it REALLY REALLY WELL!
But you can call them @:

1-800-I-FLY-SWA
(1-800-435-9792)

OR Mail them (kinda old fashion):
Southwest Airlines
P.O. Box 36647 - 1CR
Dallas, Texas 75235-1647

You are seriously going to complain about $30. you should never put anything breakable in a bag, the bags get beat up on cargo belts and under tha plane, not by carelessness.
