Christianity is all about your personal relationship with God, whether you do it through church or on your own doesn't matter, as long as you have that connection with God.

No, that has nothing to do with it. Some people who go to church 2-3 times a week aren't "good" Christians at all.

No but the bible does say we should...

Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

So yes we should fellowship together and one place to do that is church.

I think the main thing to remember is the observence of the Sabbath in obedience to the 4th commandment....Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

On your Sabbath, be it Saturday,Sunday or whatever, makes no difference what day of the week you pick , that you honor God by keeping your self holy. Now this means relax, dont work unless it is the Lord's work or chores that must be done like food prep and feeding animals, enjoy your family,go to church, pray and generally be holy. Now there are scriptures that make what we should not do clear. One of them is in Isaiah ....

Isaiah 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:

So the guy who says ,Im gonna only play golf every other Sunday, instead of every Sunday like I usually do , and go to church. This guy has completely missed the point . First off he is playing golf instead of going to church which is Sabbath breaking. Then he thinks he is honoring God by only golfing every other week. He should go to church every Sabbath and find another day to golf. Now this does not mean that you can not have a little fun on your Sabbath. you should. Just dont do it in lieu of worshipping the Lord... Jesus said...

.Mark 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

God bless......Cap'n Arlo

sitting in church is going to make you a Christian just as much as sitting in a garage is going to make you a car.
You become a good Christian when you decide to take up the cross and follow Jesus (and struggle with that decision) daily.

There are people out there who says they don’t need a church to be a Christian. Well, more power to you then. I’m glad you figured out how to challenge your presuppositions every week. I’m glad that you can challenge yourself to move out of your comfort zone week in and week out. I’m happy for you that you figured out how to be the one who comforts and encourages you when you are down and out. I’m thrilled that you can take the time out to live out the mission of Christ in the world and transform the world all by yourself. I’m glad you figured out how to do all those things, because I can’t. I need the church.
The truth is, most of us could do these on our own, but we don’t. What religion does is take what would be a good intention and turn it into reality. No longer a good intention, but a good action, because many have good intentions for the world, but what we do is give form to that, a vehicle to make things happen.

NO!! And again NO!!

My wife is one of the most spiritually aware Christians I have ever met (one of the reasons I married her), and she NEVER goes to church. In fact she avoids it like the plague. She used to attend a bible study with many older women and they were constantly asking her "what do you think?" They couldn't believe that someone so young could be so wise.

All that is required to be a Christian is a relationship with God, and the acceptance of Jesus Christ as your saviour.

Heaven is a state of mind,

You do not have to go at all to be a christian. A christian is a follower of Jesus Christ. You do this from the heart, for with the heart man believe unto righteousness; and from reading, so then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God. We go to church to fellowship but we do not have to go to be saved.

Not really. One would go to church for encouragement, fellowship and to get help in their inital walk with God. To be a good christian, one must follow the example of Christ by believing in Him and doing what He says by setting an example by love and by His grace.

No, you don't need to go to church to be a good Christian. How you live your life, treat others and keep your relatonship with God/Jesus determines whether you are a good Christian or not.
