What makes him think that after they get them they won't join Iran against us? Haven't the Republicans learned anything from Iran-Contra?

It's not all that long ago that weapons were sold to Iraq, & Osama bin Laden was a friend of the U.S.A. Even Saddam Hussein was a friend of the U.S.A.[ hence the weapons to Iraq]. Also because of the Iran threat, back then.
Impossible to work out, isn't it?

It is called "trading with the enemy," and the Bushes are masters at it. Bush thinks that because he owes the BCCI money and he has oil production in Yemen, that Saudis will be friends. He is not a brilliant man. Saddam Hussein was a stabilizing force, and now he has been murdered.

The current leadership in Iraq is Shiite, and Iran is Shiite. The Saudis are Sunnis. They hate each other.

Saddam Hussein was a Sunni. So is Osama Bin Laden.

Bush's attitude is to give them all enough weapons and they will fight with each other, and drive the price of oil up. He has succeeded so far.

Well, that's a part of global politics my friend. Politicians always think of the short term and never of the long term. History had shown repeatedly that America's allies today may be its enemies tomorrow, and its enemies today may be its friends tomorrow. I can still remember as a small kid the Arab-Israeli War of 1973, when Saudi Arabia imposed an oil embargo on the US for its role in supporting Israel in that war. It caused a global oil crisis that sent oil prices to double within just a month. It also caused massive oil-rationing and very long queues of cars lining up on petrol pump stations for miles. Saudi Arabia may be an ally of America for now. But who knows what will happen in the future, let's say 15 to 20 years from now?. When that time comes, depending on the global political situation prevailing on that time, many will surely be questioning in retrospect on why the US supplied weapons to Saudi Arabia, in exactly the same manner that many are raising questions today on why the US supplied weapons to Saddam Hussein, Bin Laden and Taliban long time in the past.

You have to understand: Iran is the current "bully-boy" on the "block". None of the other Islamic countries have nuclear capability (peaceful or otherwise). Then you also have to understand that nearly ALL other Islamic countries DESPISE Iran. Why? Because all other Islamic countries are Arabic while the Iranians are Persian.

Don't be fooled by their facade of "unity", there is a tremendous hatred for Iran.

This particular hatred goes back several millenia and hasn't changed in that period. It stems from cultural pride and history.

Most of the Foriegn Fighters in Iraq are Saudi
It will only take one Wahabi flying an F-16 to take out a lot of Americans

Well, there are two sects of Islam- I'll let you research those on your own...
Saudi is one.
Iran is the other.
AND they will kill people in their own neighborhoods who adhere to the other sect in Iraq.
Iran (land of Aryans- so funny, they aligned with Hitler, there's a strange bed-fellow around WWII- ditching the name Persia which sounds so much better.
This ally actually makes sense if it's true. It is in the Kingdom of Saud's best interest to eliminate Iran for religious and geographical reasons.

So until know u even don't know about that ?
U must know that USA had been sold many advanced weapon & war machine to Arab since the Gulf war or even before that

I think USA sold to them to help & support them to maintain peace & order in their borders to prevent the event that happened to Kuwait to be happened again NOT to use against Iran, its truly not a move that Arab want since they know that their military is not strong enough to wage a war alone without any support from USA & Allied

Since USA & allied are being busy & bothered by Iraq war so I believe USA & Allied can't give any usefull suport to Arab when Iran - Arab war starting.

They like peace especially to maintain their oil rig

I believe many Arab sheik are being bothered more by their intention to sell their crude oil more expensively to any country than being bothered to start a war that can destroy their oil rig & very costly without any clearly economically advantages for them, except just some politically advantages for them & its only in Middle East too (not in the world)

And I think u are wrong if u think that Arab will try to betray USA at least UNTIL NOW cuz many many Arab sheik had many many investment portofolio & assets in USA so its truly not a good & smart move to make against their own other "cash cow"

Plus USA is one of the Arab biggest oil importer so its will cause a bad thing to Arab economy too cuz their crude had been valued & priced by US $ too

Don't forget too that USA had one of their foreign military base in Arab too & if we had learn from history, there isn't any country that had USA foreign military base dared to do anything that can hamper their diplomatic relationship with USA, so a rebellion is truly not an option Arab had

Iran is one different thing cuz :
1. There is no USA foreign military base in there

2. USA had been helped Saddam rise to power while A Komeni (Iran most wellknown & respected leader) is truly known to hate Saddam & Iraq is one of Iran bitter rival too

3. Iran had many many good diplomatic & military relationship with many communist country (since Iran diplomatic relationship with USA became worse & worse)

4. Iran had the capability to develop a mass weapon destruction too (one of thing that USA feared)

5. USA still have not get any grip of the Iran oil rig until now while USA had many grips of Arab oil rig

So its truly a very different thing to compared Arab with Iran

OK I hope its answered all of your questions clearly & thanks!

Since when has Bush done anything that has made sense?
There is an 'agenda' they are working on that the public knows nothing about.
