29 years of Hunting (Archery,Gun, Blackpowder, and Crossbow) have taught me the best way to hunt Whitetails is from a treestand..either a portable or build your own in a good tree with 2X4's or from a ground blind made from fresh greenery and tree limbs from the same area you intend to hunt. The big thing is let the Whitetails come to you! Use a bit of cover scent wether on the ground or in a tree to mask your human odor and wear some camoflague. Don't smoke or make excessive noise and move only if you have to.. Pick your ground blind areas by looking for well worn trails thru the woods that intersect. Just so you know Whitetails can be stalked but they are even more skitish than a Mulie or Blacktail I haven't hunted the Fort Stewart area but I've hunted other areas in Georgia many times in the past. I have family that lives in Georgia. These methods work best for Whitetail all season long including the rut in the fall......I've bagged 16 in Georgia so far...

Whitetails are smarter than muleys, and unless they are city deer they spook easy. It's usually best to find a place where major trails cross and sit where you can see the intersection and be hidden. On rainy days walking around will work, but whitetails pay better attention to their surroundings so move slow. I've killed more whitetails than I remember, about 70 so far, and most of them walked within range of where I was sitting.

Almost everybody is up in the trees these days, but both stand and still hunting are still viable options. It'll be closer work than with your mulies, so if you're still hunting, move slowly and stop every few feet to take a good look around; that is, you should move as if you knew a deer was looking at you. It's actually my favorite, but you give up something in success rate that way.

Dont even try it without watching a bunch of video. Whitetails are the most fun to hunt animals I hav eever hunted, and that trophy is especially hard to get. you cant smell at all, and shut up when you hunt, dont move and maybe you will see one....but you gotta know how to shoot if you plan on tagging one

This is only meant for a laugh but the way to get a deer in Georgia is to stand out in the highway. I 've seen and hit them in the road often. See you don't even need a gun.
