I don't understand. To an outsider like me, Evangelical Christianity and Mormonism seem to have so much in common. They are both far right social conservatives.
If I were them, I would join together and elect Mitt Romney president.
But it seems that that will never happen because Evangelicals think Mormons are the devil.
Why is this?
I really don't understand.
Mormons, you helped the Evangelicals by voting for their Mr. Bush. Utah was the strongest supporter of Bush with over 70% support! Obviously, that was the Mormons. But will they return the favor? No, they won't. The Evangelicals hate Mitt Romney, and they hate Mormons.
I want to know, Mormons, how this makes you feel?
Does it make you feel sad? If I were you, I would feel hurt.
What are you going to do about it?

Utah actually only contains 25 % of the LDS population in the U.S. Evangelicals have their doctrinal distputes with the LDS on certain theological issues. As a LDS member, I don't dispute that but I really hate some evanglelicals who come on here on yahoo R & S, and other places and just spew out lies, distortions and pure exaggerations on Mormon doctrine.

Yes it makes me sad, and I'm hurt. As for doing anything I will defend my church when I see distortions and lies.

How does it make me feel. I laugh when ever i hear them because they have so much wrong and they are making a fool of them selves about it. Alot of them havent even read the book of mormon and they are telling us what we beleve. I think the belevers know what they beleve. No one knows the mormon church better than the mormons them selves. Alot of their reasoning for bashing the LDS church is undocumented and made up. The stuff that is documented, they are bending to their own porposes. They care about money. Priestcraft. Because alot of people dont know much about the LDS church they like to bash it any way they can, especially by lying. Seeing as it tis a hot topic, and Mitt Romney is a mormon, then the more money for them. They are preaching on shaky ledges and if any body did any reasearching what they were saying the would know that they are lying. They tell the people what they want to hear and reel in the dough. For the most part I find them funny.

In time this too will pass. This is the last group that can be openly insulted. That's OK, we are not thin skinned. The best way to overcome hate is to love, not hate back. We are not a monolith. If 70% voted for Bush, that still means a lot didn't.

I just love to watch Pat Robertson talk about Mitt Romney. You can almost see him gritting his teeth, speaking support of Romney, but at the same time, wanting to blast him for being Mormon.

I'm not Mormon and can answer. Mormon is a way of life-not a religion. They simply ignore criticism because they know they have the faith.
