Latin For Hybrid

There is no need to translate this Greek loan word as the Romans borrowed it directly into Latin, and it takes the genitive in ae. It means 'mongrel' the way the Romans used it, often referring to the offspring of a Roman father and a non-Roman mother, or of a slave with a free man.

As this word was brought into Latin quite early on, the Y changes to an I and its spelling therefore changes to hibrida. haecce hibrida, hujusce hibridae, etc.

i have a latin dictionary and i couldn't find that word.
Maybe because it's a newer word and in ancient times they didn't use it...
