Not a symptom of arthritis. But, there could be nerve compression ( pinched nerve) in your right hand. Basically, the nerve that runs from your wrist area into the hand becomes overcrowded by the tendons that are in the same area. It could be "Carpal Tunnel Syndrome". This a very common condition that occurs in people who, for the most, use their hands/wrists to perform certain duties. IE: cashiers, typists ( computer use) or any occupation that involves a repetitive motion of the hands/wrists. But, to be certain, you should see your Doc. I hope that this helps.

Any type of numbness is uaually caused by pinching nerves to that area of the body that you feel numbness or a tingling in. Some kinds of severe arthritis can deform or inflame bones and muscles so bad that they can cut off circulation by pinching nerves but if you are not feeling any pain or noticing any deformities or soreness then your numbness could be caused from something else. A very common cause of hands going numb is called Carpel Tunnel Syndrome. There is a similar situation that can also cause the same effect and that is if you are born with the bone area of your wrist where your nerves go through to your hand smaller than normal. That is also heriditary and I have that and so does several of my siblings. There are two ways to releave that condition. My sister had her wrists broken and spread so there could be a larger area for the nerves to go through. That is the most painful of the two procedures. The other way is what I had done and I have 100% mobility now in both wrists without any tingling or numbness. They can do the same surgery that they do for people with carpel tunnel syndrome. After the surgery they send you to therapy and if you get a good therapist like I did, you can have complete recovery from that without side effects later on. On the surgery my sister had done, you risk the possibility of arthritis in the area of the broken bone as well as other problems. Usually you cannot make a fist if you have nerve damage because your strength is felt and exercised from those nerves. If you do have numbness, it can be nerve damage and if you let it go unattended long enough, it will be irreparable so I suggest you visit your doctor very soon. One more thing. If you do have the heriditary problem with too small of wrist opening, there is a good likelihood that you also have that same condition in your neck area leading into your arm. That is Thorasic Outlet Syndrome. The surgeries for that are not always productive and have lots of side effects so anyone who has that situation should research it and talk to several doctors and specialists before getting surgery on the Throasic Outlet. I hope you find out what your problem is and that it can be corrected.

no, it doesnt sound like arthritis at all. could possibly be related to your nerves. visit your doctor asap to rule out carpal tunnel syndrome and other causes of nerve compression causing loss of sensation.
