Many people are not good at letter writing. If he is in the Marines...then he may not have time to write a long letter. It also depends on how tight their relationship was before he left. How well did they know each other in the first place? Also he is doing the same routine Marine stuff every day and may not have much to write about. She should call him if possible .....you can tell more from a phone conversation and the tone of his voice...as long as he doesn't get embarresed if other Marines are listening close by.

Well, who is this rumor from?
I think being a marine, its hard becasue you are away and all. My uncle used to be one and he had so much to write to his old girl friend that he just couldnt say it all in a letter. they have a lot on there mind, maybe thats y its choppy and short.

I recently had a similar experience, but with phone calls. The phone calls started getting shorter and shorter and few and far between. There was really no way to know whether my boyfriend (now my ex) was seeing someone else since we lived hundreds of miles apart. Lo and behold, he was cheating on me.
On the one hand, if she is completely trusting of her boyfriend and has no reason in the world to suspect that he would try and cheat on her, then she shouldn't have to worry right?
BUT if she already IS worrying, then there is the possiblity that she has a bit of doubt about his fidelity already. If you trust someone completely, you don't have to worry about them. You worry about people you don't trust. Therefore, given my personal experience, I would say that unless there is a sure fire way to make sure he isn't seeing someone else, your friend should do herself a favor and just end things before she finds out something she probably already suspected. It takes a lot of unnecessary energy to worry over something you can't really control. It's also very unhealthy.

Worry, why should she worry. He probably is writing someone else. He is pretty much letting her know by his letters, if they have changed, that means, he has changed to. Read between the lines. She can do better. Find someone else.

I would dig into that situation a lil more only if she doesnt trust him but dont let her ruin her relationship over some rumor.

He may be busy with little time to write o her, she shouldn't start questionnig him till she sees him, then she can be sure. Never listen to rumours. Best Wishes.

Depends on how old your friend is you should not get into a serious relationship until you have matured enough to Handel one.
