I like both for various reasons.
Windows XP can do whatever I want it to do. Such as currently run any program that's out there.
Windows Vista is flashy and all, it's good, however it has compatibility issues and some technical ones as well. MS has made some modifications to how computers are used by the general public and have used that statistic to alter the way the OS is set up to protect the user from malicious self-installing programs and such. (Such as, having everyone use a non-administrative account.) It's also another minor inconvenience.

I run two computers, one with XP and one with Vista. I find Vista to be a little faster, but it does come with allot of security software that is running in the background and needs to be tweaked. Other then that I find both to be very good operating systems. Would I change again, knowing what I know now. Probably not in that there isn't enough new stuff to justify the price of Vista.
Just my opinion.

I like Windows Vista better because of Windows Vista improved Internet security.

Well i have Vista and i like it a lot more than xp, but it depends if yr using yr computer for home or work. Vista is a lot more fun however XP is just basic.

ive had vista on my desktop now for nearly 7 months plus i have xp on a laptop at first i taught vista was a piece of crap bcoz always program compatibality errors but now since all programs are nearly up 2 date with vista id have 2 say vista bcoz in xp always errors and crashing in vista i havent seen any yet bcoz vista will stop you doing wrong hope this helps

I prefer XP. Microsoft took a huge step backwards with VIsta.

Vista is better because when you see the little circle you know that the computer is actually trying to find the webpage!

vista is better than xp, but your pc is slower than with xp
I don't use either because windows os is crap, i use ubuntu, but, yeah vista is the way to go if your pc has at least 1 gig ram and a good videocard and processor
