If you want to take Genesis literally -- which I don't btw -- when God created the devil, he was His right-hand-angel, Lucifer, the angel of light.
So at first, when God made him, the devil was good. But because he misused his free will, God sent him "down there."
As for why God created evil, that's a question we're not going to get a clear answer to anytime soon.
Remember when Job finally had enough and asked God why he had to suffer so much when he was basically a good, upright man? God's answer was pretty cryptic: "Where were you when I flung the stars out into space and created the whole fiery universe?" (I paraphrase.) Seems to me the answer is: you don't have the ability to understand everything right now, but just have faith for the time being. The answers to everything will come.
And what if evil isn't really a "thing?" What if it's more like the absence of a thing? Like the absence of God or the absence of Love, or the absence of Life?
Maybe evil is more like a vacuum. An empty space where something should be. Vacuums can be plenty energetic: think about what happens when you make a vacuum inside a tin can, for example? It collapses.
Maybe evil is like that, more than an entity in and of itself.

He didn't create evil. Evil is lack of God. Satan is just a stupid cocky head that decided to go against God. Got created everything. But he did not create evil. Evil created itself.

No he didnt create evil, but he did create satan. Satan used to be a beautiful angel named Lucifer who was 4th in command in all of the universe (after The Father, Holy Spirit, and Jesus) He didnt like that very much because he wanted to be 1st in command so that was the first evil really "created" i guess you could say. Since God gives everyone the freedom of choice he didnt take away the evil feelings Lucifer was feeling. After Lucifer was cast out of heaven he spread his negative feelings to other angels and eventually humans after they were created, and thats how evil began

yes, indirectly or otherwise god created everything in the known and unknown universe, apparently!
evil did not create itself, nothing, apparently, came before god. god is the only creator. stop making it up to suit yourself.
so where did satan get his evil fom? a cereal box!

Yes.
What's funny is that Satan doesn't know who Satan is. Satan is a name, which is why the S is capitalized.
devil isn't a name, which is why the d is small case.

NO!!!
GOD did NOT create evil!
Pride and covetousness was found in the heart of Lucifer. Lucifer wanted something that he was not allowed to have, the throne of GOD.
Ezekiel 28:15 Â Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.
This passage, taken in its context, is speaking of Lucifer.
GOD bless
