As long as you're baking it for at least 50-60 minutes at 350, it's done. It's just real limp because it's laying right on top of the meatloaf mixture. You could cook it 'till the cows came home and it would stay limp like that.

I like to pre-cook the bacon before putting it on top of the meatloaf. It's still not crispy, but at least I know it's completely done!

Fry the bacon in a pan for a minute or two. Just enough til you see the edges curl a bit. Then put it on top of your meatloaf, bake, and enjoy! Hope this helps1

I like to take & cook mine in a skillet over medium heat for about 10 minutes or so with the chopped onions & bellpeppers (if those are in your recipe). Once you've mixed your ingredients - I use Lipton onion soup mix, 1 egg, bread crumbs & Heinz 57. Shape meatloaf & place in center of baking pan, then wrap bacon from one side over the top & across to the other side.....Drizzle a little more Heinz 57 over top before baking......Yummy!!

Start your bacon in a frying pan and cook it halfway, then lay the strips over the meatloaf! Good luck!

i would take a better safe then sorry approach with cooked bacon you know it will be safe to eat, it will add more flavor then uncooked, and it will add some nice texture to the meat loaf. with uncooked bacon i would worry about some nasty uncooked bacon fat showing up in there
