3 Months ago, my doctor took me off all of my medication, I went through withdrawl and was put back on the meds when we told him I wasn't able to eat from withdrawl and the physical side effects. Back on the medication now, for the past 3 months I've beome increasingly more depressed and I find the only thing I can do is be on Answers, though it drives everyone I live with insane. I have all the symptoms of major depression, including violent, suicidal thoughts.
I had to switch psychiatrists (long story). I'm on: Lexapro, Ativan, Trazadone, Klonopin and Lithium. I have to go in on Monday to a new doctor to 'go over my files', but they won't perscribe anything I don't think.
I AM NOT ASKING FOR A DIAGNOSIS. I've been taking St. John's Wort in addition to my meds and it does nothing. Is there any way to get me throught the next couple weeks when my self-destructive thoughts are increasing every minute?

Check yourself into a hospital and ask them to start over. You may be there for a few weeks, but it may be the only thing that helps. They did this for me, and it was the only thing that saved my life when I was so far gone.

First off, I am so sorry about all that you are going through, have been there myself..........Second, does your doctor know about the St John's Wart? Sometimes it is a good thing but it can also be a bad thing when it interacts with certain other meds, such as those you listed. Too much of certain anti depressants can make things worse, talk to your new doctor about it. When I did not feel like my psychiatrists were working for me, I changed several times after giving each of them a chance and finally found one who correctly diagnosed me. Don't give up, I just know that eventually you will get the right treatment mentally and physically! You are doing great by reaching out for help, don't worry so much about how others are dealing with it. Just remind them that you ARE trying and for them to please hang in there with you. I think you are heading in the right direction.

I am serious when I say check out www.stresscenter.com and buy the program. I did and man it is a lifesaver.
Also you are probably on the wrong medication. Have you ever thought about checking in somewhere while you go through withdrawal safely and get on different medications.
You got to do whatever it takes to survive this. This is about survival. If you are thinking suicide I can almost guarantee your heading that direction. Check in somewhere now and get your meds straightened out. Please pray to God for guidance and direction. He can put the right people in your path. good luck!!!

IWhat turned my mind and grabbed my heart - to help me hold on to life was this: First I read these words, then I pondered their meaning.
"LOOK AT THE BIRDS OF THE AIR. tHEY DO NOT SOW OR REAP OR STORE AWAY IN BARNS, AND YET YOUR HEAVENLY FATHER FEEDS THEM. ARE YOU NOT MUCH MORE VALUABLE THAN THEY?
-- from the Bible. Matthew 6:26
I feel for you.
Hang on girl. Life is worth the trouble. There is hope.
(I've walked in your shoes, too)
Caution: St. John's Wort is NOT to be taken in addition to prescription psyc drugs. It's either one or the other, but not both.

i have struggled with depression before and still occasionally struggle with it but one thing that always helped me get through really bad days was to go out with friends or family and do something or even just dance. it always cheered me up and i always had fun. So maybe do that or think of something that makes you happy and do it. My doctor always told me to do activities that were fun for me to bring up my spirits.

You should read Dali Lama quotes and inspirational quotes. Buy some flowers and take care of someone or something. Try to get outside of yourself by doing simple things like cleaning your room.

please call your therapist immediately and tell them you are having thoughts of suicide. someone needs to be watching you carefully if you are thinking about hurting yourself. try to get out and go for a walk or something, physical activity can help you feel better! you also need to be in talk therapy, not just on meds. if you have a plan to hurt yourself call someone you trust quickly! please know that you will eventually feel better and this will pass.
