I told him that He has promised to help me with temptations of all manner.

He is faithful. He will not permit me to be tempted beyond what I'm able to bear

( I am able! )--

With any temptation,

He will provide a way of escape , so I can patiently endure it.

What are some other ones ?

How true are God's Promises. He speaks to the heart of His children. I am here in Dubai, UAE ie. in the Middle and we have the Worship service in the Fridays since that is the weekend here.

AND the message was about Promises:

All the promises written in the WOrd of God belongs to every Children of God - those who walk according to the will of God.

If i start to there will be no end...BUT

One remarkable Promise he mentioned:

1 Corinthians 2:9
"..No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.."

And..

2 Corinthians 1:20 - All are Yea in Him

"For all the promises of God in him are YEA, and in him AMEN, unto the glory of God by us."

Others:
Eph 6: 2, 3 - Long Life

2Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;
3That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

Greatest Promise is ETERNAL LIFE:

1 John 2:25
"And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life"

God Bless you, your friend and everyone who shared in the Word.

Both Sons of Abraham were given a promise (holy Covenant) to make the name of God and his laws known to all the world.

This promise was given to Abraham before the birth of Ishmael and after his birth (before the birth of Isaac 14 yrs later) so it included both sons.

Biblically the first son is supposed to get the Lions share and typically the second son looks for ways to usurp that right so it is quite infamous for the second one to verbally or in written form exclude the big bro. However, In Islam there is no exclusion of anyone.

The descendants of Isaac were chosen first.
A long line of Prophets and Kings descended from Isaac(pbuh) unto the Jews.

The children of Isaac were a blessing for all of mankind up until they denied Jesus.

In Islam Jesus is called the Messiah (annointed Prophet). He came from a miracle birth and performed miracles so nobody could falsely accuse him of being an imposter or a fake and then demand the death penalty on him. He was to be the last chance redeemer for the Jewish nation. If they accepted him and repented then they would be spared from a "lanat" and they would be forgiven for their rebellion and for the killing of Gods Prophets.

After that.... the Prophethood was shifted to the Ishmaelites and the message sent through them would be the last and eternal message until the day of Judgement.

God sent the final Prophet, the Seal of the Prophets to the Ishmaelites and with him would come the final book for all of mankind.

Both Sons were blessed and the promise was fulfilled.

God sent Ishmael and his mother into the desert of Paran when he was a baby.

This way they were protected from invasions and hellenization etc.

In the meantime the Arabs were safeguarded, their bloodlines were kept pure and their language became the most highly developed until a time came when they would speak in poetry and could memorize entire speeches of thousands of words.

When the time came............. Allah sent the last message to them.......... and the Arabs were able to memorize the word of God and they were able to memorize hundreds of thousands of sayings of the Prophet. The final message of God would come unto a people who could memorize vast amounts of information and thereby preserve it for the future.

Allah fulfilled his promise to bless both the sons of Abraham. The second son got the largest number of Prophets but the first son got the final Prophet who brought the last message that would be preserved for all time so no more Prophets would ever be needed again.

Both the sons of Abraham are blessed and honored in Islam.

Islam clearly states that Hagar and Ishmael were sent into Arabia (by command of God) 14 years before the birth of Isaac so the accusations of Sarah being overcome with jealousy is foreign to Islam.

Good question !

Many of God's precious promises are already now given to us in Spirit and in Truth by our ever-Present Holy Father-Son-Spirit of God !

A few of my favorites are:

having now the Gift of perfect and eternal peace -- the same peace that our Master Jesus had when Incarnate here with us.

Continual Teaching with God's will pure Spirit Essence within my mind, and Jesus' here as He the Spirit of Truth, ever pouring his Teaching and Transforming Light now over everyone worldwide and universally !

Being now able to be granted the Sacred Vision of GOD and JESUS as ONE SPIRIT PRESENCE here ...

Being given a Paradise trial trip to glimpse your final Destiny with God and Jesus and many pure Spirits on Paradise.

To really Know our Spirit- Identity Relationship with the Father-Infinite I AM in Jesus Christ ...

Much more ---those are just a few of my personal favorites.

Some big Divine Promises to be realized in our future destiny:

Being an Eternal Son of God in Jesus as finally all perfected Absolutely ! Both God and Jesus have given us this loving Invitation-Command: "Be you perfect, even as I AM perfect."

Realizing ever higher Spirit Glories in doing supreme and higher service to others in all of the unending universes and Heavenly spheres ! and always with and under our Sovereign Spirit GODMAN JESUS CHRIST ! (aka Jesus Christ Michael and thousands of other high titles and descriptions)

Here's one of God's promises for when you are persecuted:

Psalm 37:1-2 Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away.

First of all, there isn't anything wrong with giving into temptation, it's only human, and you shouldn't be ashamed of being just that.
Second, how can a dead man, and something that no one knows for sure exists, promise you anything? Oh wait, they can't.

He promises to reward us in Heaven for our service on earth
He promised to never flood the entire earth again

To me, of all the promises made, this one I consider greater than all, except salvation itself: All things work together for good of them that love the Lord. That, to me, is staggeringly wonderful.
