so far the first 3 refuse the answer the question based upon the econonmy,
you know it would be devastating and not good at all for the US.

I THINK I'M SMART to know that 12 million illegal immigrants will NOT be deported,
I just want to see if people are not scared to admit that it would not be good for the US if it happens. I know, no way in hell would it ever happen.
My question then is, DON'T WE NEED THESE IMMIGRANTS??
YES WE DO!

"kijafha"-- You're the only one here saying "the US economy depends on some illegal aliens." I didn't say the US depends on them. What if 12 million people lost their jobs, what kind of effect would that bring to the US? Not a good one. And if you are going to use the past to make you weak argument, it's not going to work, sorry. American is different know.

To look at the amounts you're speaking of think of a state.I live in Wisconsin. To deport 12 million or more from Wisconsin our state would be empty.Loss of produce and closing of factories would be devastating to the economy of the U S.

Deporting 12 million people in a day? impossible. It would take ages for that to happen. Some people say that illegals steal jobs. Well if they steal so many jobs then explain why they have to hire prisoners from local jails to Colorado to pick produce. Is it because people are lining up to take minimum wage jobs ?No. More and more young Americans are going to College so that they won't have to. The only way that Americans would take jobs like being a maid, or a field worker is if they raise the salary of those jobs. Which in turn would relate in a suffering of the economy. And what a sad day that would be.

It worked pretty darn well for President Eisenhower.
To all the Econ deficient clowns, yes...produce may rise a bit but it would not rise to the point of consumer withdrawal or unrest. Illegal Aliens count for less THAN 10% of all crop producing jobs and there's technology to eliminate all but a few humans needed on a crop producing farm. Get another doomsday scenario.
BTW----The US has a bustling prison population just ripe for picking crops if needed.

If we need them so much then why do they come illegally? Why don't they show us how much we need them by leaving, and then applying to return legally? I don't expect you to understand that though. Why can't they admit that they need us more than we need them? Perhaps then we'd be more sympathetic. That 'in your face we are here to stay' attitude is going to eventually cause some major problems.
In answer to your actual question, after a period of adjustment the economy would be fine. Better than fine as we wouldn't be paying for services for illegals and citizens could find decent paying jobs.

I think it'll be much better and realistic to just CLOSE THE BORDER!!
There's nothing we can do about the illegals whom are here already, so get used to it. (We can thank the last generation for that)
Deport the illegals who are clogging our prison systems, and leave the rest alone. For every one we deport, there will be 50 hopping the border....sigh...

Illegals are criminals. So lets deport all the illegal immigrants and release all the criminals from prison (provided they are legal US citizens) and have them do the jobs the illegal immigrants would do. That would help our economy, we would have cheap labor and not as much of our tax dollars would have to go to the prison system or to welfare programs.

I honestly think that it will help the economy.
First of all
Lets take in to consideration of all the money that gets Western Union back to Mexico.
2006 over $2 Bil. went to Mexico. So theoretically it will help.
Hospitals, business will flourish.
There will not be any cheap labor. Would also benefit.
Greedy Corporation will have a second look on their incomes
We do not need these immigrants, to do our jobs.
So hiring cheap labor is one of your things.
Get real. I bet you have no idea how to work.

it would mean the United States would be an independent and sovereign country once again....and a law abiding one to boot.
The most important reason the USA has been the best economy for so long is because of respect for the law, and the middle class having a chance at the brass ring of success.
The illegal immigration problems spits in the eye of respect for the law and stability. To say its good for the economy is a lie, when the american citizens are being harmed by it by having their jobs taken and their salaries suppressed. YOU mean to say its good for big business....and good for their profits....
By the way, massive deportation is not necessary. Once border is secured and illegals cannot work due to air tight systems that prevent it or make it extremely painful financially to hire illegals, then illegals will have no recourse but to flow back to their countries....or what I call self deportation. If they choose to stay here and be criminals or something like that, they will be caught and deported then too.

Nobody needs to be deported. All that needs to be done is put the US employers in prison. They'll get the message and the jobs will dry up. The illegals will go home on their own.

Nothing.
When a problem came up about the shortage of tomato pickers, they simply made a machine that could do it.
Before illegals, who mowed yards? (Teen age boys.)
Before illegals, who worked at fast food places? (Teen age kids, some adults, some older adults)
Before illegals, how did you get anyone to do a job that was considered menial? (You kept raising the pay until you got someone to do it.)
What illegals have brought is low wages and a constant drain on our social services. We would be better off without them.
