I commute to school about a 1 hour back and forth. I rarely drive around town. The SRT-4 is a turbo and I know that turbo's eat alot of gas. Only Prenium and lots of it. I'm cheap but does the SRT-4 get at least 25MPH on the highway? I'm thinking about a non turbo WRX impreza sedan. It's not turbo so it will not eat alot of gas, right? I'm stuck between a SRT4 and a non turbo WRX. Which car is better for me?

There is no such thing as a non-turbo WRX. The WRX is the turbo-charged version of the Subaru Impreza sedan (the full name is "Subaru Impreza WRX"), so if it doesn't have a turbo then it's just a plain Subaru Impreza.

The turbo doesn't actually hurt fuel economy that much (the Impreza is rated at 22 city/29 hwy and the WRX is 20/27). Subarus are not generally known for great fuel economy but that has more to do with the AWD. The non-turbo Impreza is quite a bit slower than the WRX.

The SRT-4 was rated at 22 city/30 hwy. You could probably use regular unleaded in it, though it will decrease its performance. When the SRT-4 came out it offered unparallelled performance for the price, but since it's discontinued and you'd be buying used, you should keep in mind that Dodges are not known for great reliability (whereas Subarus are only a notch below Toyota/Honda, based on Consumer Reports reliability survey).

Both are good cars and the SRT-4 if driven lightly can get close to 30, but I'd take the WRX since its all wheel drive it'll handle like a dream. Plus a car built for handling uses no more gas then a regular sedan.

I would go with the WRX. Neons are sporty, but their quality and reliability leave a lot to be desired.
