The best way that worked for me is simply riding a bike. If you stay seated and don't stand up to get the extra boost it'll help out a lot more. It'll wear your calves and quads out more, and in turn, they will build.

Standing Calf Raises
1. Stand erect with your knees locked or close to locked.
2. Place a barbell across the back of your shoulders and traps.
3. Put the balls of your feet on the edge of block (stair/ block of
wood/ etc.). Your toes should be pointed forward.
4. Lower your heels as far as possible or untill you feel a good stretch in
the calf muscles.
5. Raise your heels and stand as tall as possible. Focus on your calves
having to do all the work and hold the contraction for a few seconds.
6. Do not bounce. Keep your legs strait and your knees and hip locked.
7. Repeat the motion.
Leg Press Calf Raises
1. Using the leg press machine, place your toes and the balls of your feet
on the edge of the platform, so your heels rise in mid-air.
2. keep your knees locked.
3. Push the platform by extending the foot (toes higher than heels, calves
contracted).
4. Lower the platform by contracting your foot (toes lower than heels,
calves stretched).
5. Be very careful not to bounce the weight.
6. Repeat until failure or until you have completed the desired number of
repetitions.

Get a job at smiths or Von's grocery store. This is the way way to actually get very tight calves. Honest you will be so surprised. Pushing carts. 8 hours a day. yup - You will also lose 2 sizes. Make some money too. Or just change your life style . walk as much as possible.

I was cheerleader in school and I played volleyball. I always did leg exercises more than any other exercise. I have muscular legs even at 43. So walking stretching, climbing steps, walking up hills. do exercises at home that lets u feel it in ur calves and u'll know its working them. Warning..too much muscle will knot up as u get older. and causes pain. now that I'm 43 i regret these muscled legs. I'm not able to keep up the exercise and I'm paying for it..so once u start serious exercise try to keep it up if just walking. walking works them without injury..

Calf pumps are great for this. Stand on a step with just the front part of your foot. Slowly push your body up and down working the calf muscle. You can also do this by simply standing on your tip-toes if you don't have something to stand on. Standing on the step gives you more range of motion and works a little better. Good Luck!

try squats; that will also help your thighs. also try bike riding. that is really good for all your legs. if you do ever get the chance to go to the gym try squats with weights. and try standing on an even area like on a stair and flex your heel down and hold it. it will stretch your calve out, making more room for muscle

stand on a step or something of that sort and have your heels hanging off. lift up on your tip toes and hold for about 5 or 6 seconds. do 25 of these a night and you should see a difference in about a week or so.

Calf pumps are the best things to do. Just pump your foot up & down, and hold it for a couple seconds. Biking is also very good too!

running is a really good way to build calf muscle, especially uphill! if you want something slower paced try hiking or even jumping on a trampoline...anything that gets your legs muscles working will help you reach your goal.
