I already completed my manuscript in the genre of fantasy in the form of twelve anthologies. I never had any of my work published before and this is my first book. I already have query letters sent out to a bunch of agencies and i know all about the game of getting an agent, but luck is running out and time is a precious thing. I'm 16 and is that why they keep rejecting me in my letters? Or is it because I've never been published? I've been to a bunch of websites about Literary agents, but I'm open to any suggestions. I need to get my book published so my literary work may be accomplished and known. Please help me!

Welcome to the saturated world of pursuing publication. If you haven't done so, make sure any literary agents that you wish to submit your manuscript to will accept your particular genre of fantasy and if they accept anthologies.

Not all agents accept fantasy and anthologies so you must exercise strong focus upon those that would. Go back through your Writer's Market and see if you've missed a potential literary agent that might accept your type of writing.

Continue to expect rejections because they are the natural order of things in the grand scheme of publishing.

You are joking, right, if you were a literary agent would you do it for free, if you find someone who publishes for nothing let me know !!! I don't think you have any idea how much it costs to publish a book, if they keep rejecting you it may be because they think that you not mature enough yet in your writing. Most writers do have agents, even Stephen King has an agent, and could you imagine anyone tuning him down, well they did when he was younger !!!!! When you send the manuscript do you tell them how old you are. Try talking to an agent and see if you can get one of them to give you their opinion on your writing and if they think that your ready for publication. Remember you've never been published and are an unknown, so it's going to be hard without an agent. Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear but that's the way the world works, but don't be discouraged all writers go through this, just read some of their biography's and you'll see, your not the only one who got turned down on their first book! If I remember correctly Anne Rice had this problem also.
