Damn, okay, I haven't seen a good answer for the No. 4 and 5 SMLE (they use the same action).
1) Flip up rear sight
2) open and pull bold back ALMOST 'till it stops
3) There is a little spring loaded rectangular button on the rt side of the action about .5" from where the bolt head will be stopped ... push it in and pull the bolt all the way back. The button will now be UNDER the bolt.
4) Rotate the bold head CCW until it's atraight up
5) Bolt will easily come out the back. If not, pull the trigger.
Shoot! JD had the same answer.

You didn't tell us which model so here is the way to do it with MK1 and MK4 Lee Enfield Model Rifles.
Lift the rear sight and underneath there should be a bolt release button..Depress it and at the same time pull the bolt backwards all the way til it will not go back further then, simply release the bolt lock button. Rotate the bolt upwards aligned with the bolt rib and slide it out free. Reverse to re-assemble. If you have another version, write me with the model and I will explain how to do the other models too. It's easy and once you've done it once you won't forget! Good Luck!

Open the bolt and slide back as far as it will go. you will notice that the last 1" of the bolt is a separate part, you have to lift it over the stop ( I think)( it is 10 years since I saw one)

Everyone seems to have answered cept the venerable No4 (late).
Open the bolt and pull it back just slightly till the bolthead lines up with that little 1/2" gap in the guiderail. When it's there, simply rotate the bolthead off the guide and pull the bolt back and out.

The Enfield I had was easy. Pull back on the bolt until it hits a stop, pull the trigger and the bolt slides right out.
To replace. start the bolt into the action, pull the trigger and it slides right back in.
