I've noticed Pentecostals, Johovoahs Witness, Mormons and some others have people that aren't to freindly and a little distant. They seem to act like they're better or judgemental, why cause I'm not part of the group? Didn't Jesus teach love and compassion? Didn't he eat with prostitutes and sinners? Why would I ever want to go to those churches?

Jehovah's Witnesses do not pretend that they know which individuals will survive Armageddon and which will not. Witnesses believe the bible to teach that nearly all dead humans will be resurrected to perfect bodies in a restored paradise earth.

Jehovah's Witnesses well-recognize the plain bible truth that a Christian can disqualify himself from salvation, particularly as that applies at Armageddon (emphasis added to following citations).

(Matthew 24:13) But he that has endured TO THE END is the one that will be saved.

(Philippians 2:12) Keep WORKING OUT your own salvation with fear and trembling

(Hebrews 5:9) [Jesus] became responsible for everlasting salvation to all those OBEYING him

Jehovah's Witnesses hope to demonstrate love and devotion for God and Christ when they pursue the qualities and work indicated by the Scriptures. Similarly, Witnesses work to avoid the qualities and pursuits which the bible teaches is displeasing and distracting from God and Christ.

No Witness would pretend that any "works" could change the fact that salvation is always an undeserved gift. God and Christ are beautiful, majestic, merciful persons who have the power, wisdom, justice, and love to preserve alive any who they will.

Until that time, Jehovah's Witnesses preach a message of "good news", and leave all judging for Jehovah and Jesus to perform "on the last day".

(Acts 10:36,42) Declare to them the good news of peace through Jesus Christ: this One is Lord of all others. ...this is the One decreed by God to be judge of the living and the dead

(John 11:23-25) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.” Jesus said to her: “I am the resurrection and the life.

(John 12:48,49) The word that I [Jesus] have spoken is what will judge [a person] in the last day; because I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment

(John 8:16) if I do judge, my judgment is truthful, because I am not alone, but the Father who sent me is with me

(Matthew 12:36) They will render an account concerning it on Judgment Day

(John 5:22,27-30) [The Father] has committed all the judging to the Son... 27 And he has given him authority to do judging, because Son of man he is. 28 Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out... I judge; and the judgment that I render is righteous, because I seek, not my own will, but the will of him that sent me.

(Acts 17:30,31) God has overlooked the times of such ignorance, yet now he is telling mankind that they should all everywhere repent. Because he has set a day in which he purposes to judge the inhabited earth in righteousness by a man [Jesus] whom he has appointed

In addition, Jehovah's Witnesses are quite famous for teaching that "hell" does not exist as Christendom has taught it; God has *NOT* arranged for any such place of fiery torment for sinners in some netherworld. The original Hebrew and Greek words most commonly translated as "hell" actually refer to the common grave of mankind; the Scriptures point forward to a time after Armageddon when humans will live forever and death and "hell" are themselves destroyed.

(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all

(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]

(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire

Well I know with myself, I get frustrated with society when it does evil like sanction things like slavery and abortion. We have no right to declare some humans the property of another by virtue of their age or race. We just get frustrated because we seem to be the only ones advocating a relationship with God and also basic morality. So if it werent for fellow believers, it would be very lonely.

People can take pride in the fact that they are in Christ Jesus. Paul himself boasted of it right in the Bible. Maybe the reason you cant identify with that pride is because you dont belong to Christ?

Jesus did teach love and compassion for the meek of society. But what he didnt advocate is appeasing those who think they re the elite of society and have nothing to do with God.

You should want to go to church out of your own love for God and your fellow man. That is not to say that everything those churches you mentioned do or believe are of God. But if you seek God and wish to serve him, then nothing is going to keep you from finding a great church to worship and be a blessing to others.

You are judging all because of how SOME people behave. That's unfair.

You say SOME people, but then you act as if ALL religious people are this way.

As the majority of people in the world adhere to one religion or another, naturally some are going to be egotistical.
I have never acted as if I were any better than anyone else.

You are being judgemental with this very question.
Are you religious?

There are always going to be snobby people. Ignore them.

Have a good afternoon.

So why even think about it.

Often when someone says you think you are! Can another read your mind...no? The world has a true saying when one assumes what does he or she do make a fool out of themselves.

Can you do better than they...can you learn to be and example. The solution to a problem?

You say they seem.....either or they do or do not?

Look do you really think they care about you being one of the group..God can choose another his program will go on without you.

They act like....some read too much into a perfectly Innocent encounter....if you look for trouble undoubtedly you will find it.

You're one of the few people who thinks this way. Many, many people of religion won't accept that there are others of different faiths, instead they condemn them to hell for sinning against their God, taking it as a personal smack in the face.

I'm not sure why they're so much better than everyone else, but clearly because they believe in God, it give them the high end of things..

The larger question is why anyone would want to go to church.

It is fundamental to most religions of which I'm aware to feel that otheres are misguided and their mind must be changed....or else.

Read Sam Harris "The Atheist Manifesto" for some enlightenement.

You wouldn't. And unfortunately there are a few people in each church that think that they are better than sinner because of their "spiritualness." These people have always existed though. They were called Pharisees in Biblical times.

The fallen one has cleverly snuck intothe churches and controls many. The proof: It is in the judging, if you are judging others even in the name of god , you have been tricked by the fallen one. God never wants us to judge others, only to show love and fellowship, If you are doing anything else you have been tricked.

Some people don't practice what they preach. But it's not all religious people who do that. It's just a select few who are like that. Don't stress it too much.

That is true and if they have an argument they will use their religious beliefs against you. I think religion is personal and shouldn't be used in a negative way.
