I had the same problem with my Sibe when I first got him. He would not eat his food but would beg for mine. I took him to the vet and bought all this expensive dog food...and NONE of it worked.
I finally just poured some of his regular dog food in his bowl, showed it to him, and let him be. He didn't eat for about 2 days, and then he started munching down. I haven't had any problems since.
It's not inhumane, dogs will not starve themselves! They'll eat when they get hungry enough!

The problem is that he's used to eating table scraps and won't settle for anything less. Try different food brands and mixed canned in with the dry. If he's hungry long enough, eventually he'll eat dog food (which is 100 times better for him than people food). Don't let him bully you, you know what's best for him!

The problem is, is that he has learned that being stubborn and holding out on eating his dog food, will make you give in and give him human food. Its like whan a kid learns how to work their parents. You dog has learned how to work you. You need to stop feeding him like this. It is a very bad habbit and very unhealthy for your dog. A lot of human food is not good for dogs. I would put him in a different room while your are eating, and shut the door. even if he wines. Put out a bowl of dog food, and when he gets hungery enough, he will eat it. It may be hard at first cause he is used to you giving in, but after a few days, he will get the picture. You need to stop giving in. Like I said, human food a lot of it, is bad for your animals, preservatives and much much more. So think about that, you want your dog to live a long healthy life. Then feed him healthy dog food. He will eventually eat it. He may even try to punish you at first and dump in the house or chew something up, but you need to not give in.

Soooo...you've given your dog people food and now you expect him to eat DOG food?
You know the little sucker's holding out for something better!
Doctor up your dog's food with VitaGravy (you can buy bottles of it in the dog food section of the store), a scrambled egg (raw if your dog doesn't have many digestive issues), grease from when you cook something fatty (like, the fat from browning ground beef), cottage cheese, leftovers, scraps...
My dog does the same thing. Won't eat for DAYS if we don't doctor up her food. Though dogs enjoy eating every day (sometimes several times a day, if you let them), technically, they're usually capable of eating a whole lot at once and not eating again for what seems like a very long time.
Kinda like in the wild when they'd capture something and then not eat again until...they caught something else.
But some dogs are super-picky. You can try mixing in some cat food (dry's OK, but wet cat food will REALLY make your dog love you!) And try to find a nice stinky dog food--my dog loves that, oh, is it Purina ONE? It's called Sensitive Systems, comes in a maroon bag.
It smells like old fish.
She loves it.
But even with that, she still usually won't eat unless we gussy up her food to make it yummier (to her, anyway.)

You are the problem......If you will stop feeding him your food,,,he will get hungry and eat his own food. I know it is hard, but human food is not good for dogs,,,they will get tummy upsets, constipated or worse, diarrhea. Wait until he is well established eating his own food, and then you could give him, as a treat, tuna or chicken,,,in his own plate...once you start feeding him when you eat,,,you can't blame him for wanting to keep on doing it.

Stop feeding him your food, and start feeding him so high quality food like Canidae, Wellness, or Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul. As long as he can eat your food, he has no reason to eat his! Dogs will not starve themselves. He will eventually eat his food, if you stop giving him yours.

get a can of broth, like chicken or beef, and pour about 1/4-1/3 of the can in with a cup of dry dog food, mix it really well and let him eat that.
over time, give him less broth and eventually he'll eat straight dry food.

Cause you allow him to eat people food.. Put down his DRY dog food, leave it there, he'll eat it.. And don't give him any more people food.. WHy would he eat his dog food that is nutritionally correct for him if you keep allowing him to eat your food..
