The emergency vehicle exception is the only thing that would protect an officer driving a patrol car & that would only apply if the lights and siren are on. If you don't agree with the way an officer is driving a patrol car, you can always take the time to get the unit number off the car and file a complaint against them with the agency they represent. As far as there being a law against the way an officer drives? They have to obey all traffic laws too, but I think you'd be hard pressed in trying to make a traffic stop on them.

it depends. if an offier has their lights on other drivers should get out of the way. if you feel the officer is in the wrong you might want to catch the veh # of the unit and call the appropriate juristiction to report the officer.
officers are supposed to be models for the public and at times they forget how much they can get away with and don't always obey the rules they inforce. but mind you those other vehs that they almost wrecked in to... were they going the speed limit?

It depends. If the officers lights and sirens are on, he is an emergency vehicle and those vehicles should have pulled to the side of the road and stopped to begin with.
If he doesn't have his lights or sirens on, he has no legal protection in most states, so he could be liable if there is an accident.

EVEN IF he has his lights and sirens on he STILL must use caution when violating laws so as not to cause an accident. Lights and sirens do not make you a God. You STILL have responsibilities to the public. Many a cop needs to understand this.

Whats this got to do with your 6th DUI (lifetime)??? OOPS SORRY, I was still on your last question. Heres my advice, spend more time worrying about how you are driving and less time worrying about how Police Officers are driving. OOOPPS again, after 6 DUI's (lifetime) I guess you won't have to worry about driving at all. My mistake.
