Try to get yourself into a state of mind that will accept such things.. try looking forward to it. As for your "Sounds of the 60's" problem, ask your parents if they'll give your music equal time - or at least SOME time.. you know a "I have to listen to your music, could you listen to mine for a while?" kind of approach.
Try making this a family-bonding type of experience. I mean, these are the people you can't get rid of... so it would be best to foster good relationships. Believe it or not, you're never going to get rid of them... even after you turn 18. :-)
Good luck, and have fun..

As a child that went on family vacation that listened to the 8track tapes and knew all the old time songs and can still sing them to this day those are still some of the most endearing memories I have, as my Daddy has passed away, a little over 3 years now. I cannot contact my mom by phone, my older sister and I do not talk at all. I do have contact with my younger sister but she is in CA and I am in PA. You need to really change your values. Take along some reading materials, and some materials to sketch nature, or a journal to record what happens on your vacation, or take up photography. You might learn a new hobby and even enjoy yourself. Learn from others mistakes. Signed, Ms. Oldhead (And Proud of It) Liss

Guaranteed to go mad, but I hate to be the voice of reason but I never had a family when I grow up and I would have liked nothing better then to have a family holiday, so enjoy your self and be grateful you have a Mum/Dad/Brother that all love you, because I didn't and I'm afraid I'm not alone in that. Have fun x

By the sounds of it, your in for the bad one. Since u got no power that takes out many options such as dvd players, music or tv. Since no book will last you for that long, you are stuck. All you can do is make ur family know you wont stand for the bad cds.
Hope it works out

What i did on vacations such as this, is take stuff with me that i like, to keep myself busy and try to ignore the rest. Like your own music if you have a portable cd-player/MP3 player... and once you're there, you can always go and explore on your own. This way, I've had lots of fun either on my own or with the new people I met. Just make the best of it, if you don't have a choice!

You will love it. Back to nature. Fresh air and family conversation. Look at all the beautiful things around and appreciate how lucky you are to be here and see our wonderful world. These are the good times and you will realise this as you get older. Enjoy!
