I asked a question about my husband being an ice road trucker. For one of you who said it's summer, no ice. No ****!!! Winter will be here soon he needs to know now. For EVAN - Wanna be my ***!!! My husband has driven truck for about 20 years. We live in the rockies he drives everyday, he was an over the road driver for about ten of those years, I think he knows a little bit about trucks. So get off your high horse and get a life! There are other people out there who are as you say "professional truckers" too. You aren't the only one.

Back to your origional question. I searched my back issues of Today's Trucking for the article I read about ice trucking, but couldn't find it, the best answer I found on the web is regarding Nuna Logistics, the company who manage the roads and provide other services to the mining companies up north. On their website there is a tab for employment opportunities, and they list Rock Truck Drivers as a job to be available in the comming months. Check it out at http://www.nunalogistics.com/employment/index.html
Best wishes for the future, your fellow trucker, Andrew.

There will always be people who take any opportunity to put down others. It makes them feel superior. Some have no self-esteem. I pity them myself.
There are no stupid questions (unless someone is playing with this forum and I don't answer questions which seem that way to me).
We all have information to share. This forum is a great way to do it I think.
As for Ice Roads......yes, they do exist above the 54th Parallel, and supplies must be delivered during this time to remote communities. Northern regions plan all their deliveries around Spring break up and Winter freeze up times.
I admire your husband for his bravery in battling the ummmm, shall I say, inexperienced drivers, the aggressive and stubborn drivers and those just too lazy to think.

There are many reasons why a person may ask what you consider a stupid question. The person is shy and trying to make small talk or, the person isn't into small talk. Some people just get nervous about talking on a one-to-one with another person. Of course, then there are some people that just don't think before they open their mouths. It's always wise to grit your teeth and be pleasant. You just never know why the person asked what you consider a stupid question in the first place.

and if you'll recall, I suggested you contact Tli Cho Landtran, which is one of the trucking company that operates on the ice road.

Many people ask questions here that could be easily answered themselves using the greatest information resource ever developed - the internet. They obviously have internet access or they wouldn't ask questions here, so their only excuse is that they are lazy. I'm not saying your question fits this criteria, but this is what happens when you ask questions in a public, unmoderated forum. People can and will answer with anything that comes to mind.

First, you have to connect your ipod to your computer and it will automatically sync with the music that is on itunes on your computer. After that, you will be able to hear all the music that is on your computer, on the go on your ipod. Good Luck!

Wait, what was this question about! :) LOL Hey, you can't expect much from such an open type forum. There are some legit answers just as there legit questions. You take what you get with a grain of salt.

Honey you need to find some ice to sit in and chill out! Wow! If you expect expert advice maybe you should be asking an expert, and not a random group of people who could care less about your husband's trucking career. They responded to a question for the points, not for you to turn around and lecture the world because their advice didn't meet up to your high standards.

I see all the lame answers apparently come from those who most likely voted for Bush being that they have no knowledge of a simple question and just spew out their hate.

I would call companys in Yellowknife and possibly they could get you going on something as far as contacts and such.

Good Luck to you and youres

It is because you get two points for every answer on Yahoo Answers.

If you look at the so-called "Best Answerers", you will see that many of their answers are pure drivel. They simply answer questions for the sake of getting two points!

You have to accept that, when asking a serious question on Yahoo Answers, you will get a proportion of stupid answers.

Sorry.

Calm down.
The people that post crap are faceless people that do not have a life. But do not let an internet post stress you to the max.

Calm down.
