Jerimiah 8:22 says, "Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then has the health of my poor people not been restored?
The commentary at the bottom of the page says that Jeremian was lamenting about denouncing the people of Judah. The balm refers to resin from the Styrax tree, produced especially in the north Transjordan region of Gilead, widely used for medicinal purposes.
