You sound like a woman who has a good head on her shoulders, it won't affect you in any shape or form.
Don't listen to the hype---it's false information hon.

ha ha ha!!! Your not even in the Army yet and you are already worried about sexual harassment. Don't worry, some females use that excuse to get what they want while making the rest of the honest female soldiers look bad.
It doesn't matter where you get a job (civilian/military), there is always a chance that a bad person will be your supervisor. And women sleep to get to the top in the civilian world too.
Stay professional and don't use Sex Har. as an excuse so that you don't have to perform your work duties and you will be fine.

People move up in rank with the amount of "time" served.
This doesn't mean that your promotion won't "denied" when
the time comes.
If anyone makes a move on you. don't make a move to have
it reported until you have witnesses, unless you have been
sexually abused. In either case. Have it reported to the
"Chaplin" based in your area. If you complain to anyone
higher in the chain of command, as the rules go. Your file
may have a way of losing itself. The Chaplin then will guide
you through the steps to follow. By signing on you are
"government property." If you are injured by anyone, go to
medical so it will be on record. Your medical records may
be used in your defence. It may have to be stated as to why
the injury occured.
I am telling you this as a precaution. All is not bad in the
service. It is a very important step in life.God Bless You, and
this is the best I can do to salute you.

There are women like that in the military, but in my experience, women are judged by who they are and what they do. Be yourself, do what you think is best and treat everyone as an individual and you should be fine. my wife has 19 years in and she says the most important thing in her career was to guard her reputation diligently. Don't ever be afraid to set people right, do it as soon as it needs to be done, even if its a buddy messing with you in a joking manner about you being in that "sleeping around" category. Treat people as individuals and always remember that enlisted ranks are enlisted ranks and its OK when you get to your duty station to date an NCO as long as they are not in your chain of command. They are people too and one may be interested in dating you so treat it as anything else, a guy that wants to date a girl. Just steer clear of the Officers or NCO's in your chain of command, thats fraternization.

dont worry about it, here is the low down. if ANYONE makes an unwanted pass at you, especially if they are saying you have to do it to get promoted, you report them to IG (inspecting general, they are the service members complaint people), it will take care of everyone and its anonymous so you dont have to worry. women do have it easier when it comes to getting men in trouble of course, all they have to say is that a guy said something inappropriate to you and the guy has no way to prove otherwise. I have seen it many times, luckily I dont work with females lol.

If you don't do it, then no, it can't affect you. And if anyone ever tried to pressure you, you could simply turn them in. It's against military regulations. I don't think it's as common as you've heard.
