I agree its sick and just not right.
I tell you the worlds just not right.
I have given up going to the park in my area, I live in a particular nice place but its full of teenagers, who will be swearing, smoking or doing other things you don't want your little ones seeing.
In fact this is a subject that I care too deeply about! A park is for little children! so I think maybe cameras should be in place if teenagers go in then the police should stop them entering, or every parent who has a young child should maybe get a key to go into locked parks....
I don't know its just an idea......
Maybe get more youth bars and clubs or halls where the young teenagers could go,(supervised of course) with their friends with music or food.

The local authority should have permanant security officers in the parks just like we used to have park wardens when I was a girl. When these were withdrawn the yobs and vandals took over and then the druggies and underage drinkers moved in.What do we pay out taxes for? Parks should be for the children and decent parents not this sort.
I sympathise 100% and hope that you and others can get this cleaned up - I certainly report anything that I see around here and I chase up my local council too because thy're all too quick to collect the poll tax and spend it on "prestige" projects in the city centre but we want our parks to be safe.
Best wishes,
Joan.

I know how you feel. A park near where we live is a popular trading point for smackheads. The police know about it, they raid it every now and then, but these people will keep coming back. We are lucky to have another park close by which is much cleaner and safer so we go there instead.

Most parks are the same now days & it's annoying.I'm always on the look out for broken glass & used needles.I think the councils should do random park patrols & early morning clean ups to make them a safer place for our kids to play.

Yeah..it is sad. I have been having this problem when taking my son and 2 neighbor children to the elementary school down the road. Everytime I go there, I end up catching some teens smokin dope or drinking a 40oz. I'm getting pretty fed up with it myself.

because you haven't phoned the police yet.
The reason they're still there is because everyone thinks the same thing. "Oh by the time I ring then they'll have gone. Someone else will ring next time they're here."
Until people start actually just ringing the police then they'll continue to be there.

I know, it's sick. Try going to a different park, one in a posher area. Don't want to sound snobby, but the nicer area you're in, the less likely to be drug dealers lurking about.
Try taking a serupticious photo, maybe on your phone, then use it in evidence when going to the police
