it will work fine. tha amp is really only 220 watts at 4 ohms and the speakers wont die unless you really pour heavy bass at high volumes. so just take it easy on the old volume knob and it will be cool. a good way to tell if you're overdriving the speakers is if the sound loses clarity, so be careful and rock on,dude!

Are you sure that amp is 1000 watts?
Is is bridgeable?
From what you're saying, your speakers should be perfectly fine.
Without knowing whether or not your amp is bridgeable, my advice would be for you to hook the amp directly to the speakers. One speaker on each channel.
Each channel will only be pulling 110 watts (from what you've stated) So 300 watt speakers will be able to handle 110 watts just fine, and if their 60 watts rms, then that 110 watts (max) should have them sounding like their supposed to.

Due to the impedance of your 4 ohm speakers the maximum power that any speaker will have is 110 watts in the 4&omega speaker channels. The 2&omega channels will be running 77.5 watts.
Shouldn't be a problem unless you are going to max out the system. I think that ear pain will set in before damage to your speakers.
cheers

Your amp has two channels at 500 watts each. If you only use one that is the amount of amperage you will get. When you hook the speaker just do not turn it up past 60% and your speaker won't blow.
