I have two lapel pins which signal my affiliation with two organizations which I hold dearly; is it too gaudy to wear both of them at the same time?

Lapel pins in general usually denote that you need to make some sort of statement instead of relying on yourself and confidence. If one is there in the first place your credentials are understood so there is no reason to advertise. You stand on your own.

But it does depend. In some situations it is appropriate to have ONE. If it is just for the association of architects or some certification that everyone gets skip it. If one ever spent time in the military one small pin goes a long way.

If you have excelled at whatnot having the emblem on the cufflink is so the way to go. This shows some serious taste and class. But never ever do two lapel pins.

honestly it seems excesive. lapel pins are generaly show some sort of affiliation weather official or social. while a little flag or yellow ribbon may seem inocuous, ask yourself, is there any reason why in the course of buisness that i should bring up my patiotism or politics? im using these as an example bc i see them the most. your affiliation with these groups may turn off others in your buisness. theres a reason drug dealers dont wear gang colors. social affiliations such as the masons or elks while beneficial need not be displayed on the lapel. i might sugest a tie tack, ring, money cllip or other such visinble trinket to advertise your affiliation. subtltey is the key.

I don't think so, but it definately depends on what they look like. You wouldn't want 2 really large pins on your lapel. Two moderately sized lapel pins next to one another looks fine, unless they are indications of opposing affiliations or something like that.

Lapel pins are for girls - businessmen shouldn't wear them at all.
