phonetically, when pronounced with a British (Cockney) accent?

I think it would be like "O-y-pen" but not really, because it's not the 'oy' as in "oil".

Any ideas?

It's close to [au-pən]. Difficult to show on Y!A unless you're familiar with the International Phonetic alphabet. The [au] bit is close to the 'ow' in the word 'how' and the [pən] bit rhymes with the ending of 'soften', 'often' etc. in Brit English. Hope this helps.

My friends and I used to talk cockney for fun in stores, we listened to a tape to get it down.

You don't pronounce constenants.
Like 'Eo for Hello.
Open would be "ohy-pen".
Like you thought.
haha

"ow-pen" would be more Scottish/Welsh.
"oh-pen" would be proper British.
