Just show them a lot of love and attention.
We had the same situation when I was a kid, and they turned into the most loving friends for life. Ate slept, played together. We never told them that one was a cat and the other a dog. It was so cute.
I wish people could be like that.

Just be wary - even at 4 months a kitten has very sharp claws and will instinctively attack the eyes of what it thinks may be an aggressor.
Our Abysinnian boy was known locally as "the pit bull terror cat" because he beat up all the neighbourhood dogs!

Give them a mutual cuddly toy to play with. The scent of the kitten and puppy will scent the cuddly toy and it helps both animals accept each other as friends rather than foes.

you put the puppy infront of the kitty and see what happens, and be ready to pick one of them up incase of a conflict. my sister has 4 kittens and 1 puppy and the puppy's mom, the kittens and the puppy get along really well.

Theyre both young enough, just put them together. Dont allow the puppy to go nuts and chase the cat all over. They cat will probably hate it at first, but as long as you control how agressive the pup is they will soon be friends.

Put them both in a room and shut the door. They'll either get on or not.
If they don't don't worry about the kitten because cats always win. Usually by scratching the dogs nose

Put them in a room together like I did, there will be a lot of hissing, the cat will sit on top of the Kitchen cupboards for a week, but all will be OK in the end...once the cat is boss.

they should be fine with each other at that age, if not, put one in one room and the other in another, preferably a room with a glass door so they can still see each other, or you could try putting something like a baby gate (like what you put at the bottom of the stairs) in the middle of the door so they can see and smell each other, after a few days of that they should be used to each other enough to be let into the same room!!

Put them together and let nature take its course. They may fight at first, but they will end up used to each other.
