I run right for Him! Took me long enough in life to realize that HE is my only refuge in the storms of life! I got it now and that is why I run straight for HIM!

Yep, I do beleive that everything happens for a reason. It is up to us to learn from these happenings and to grow in the Lord!

I've done both, actually. Still do sometimes. I know that the road I have to take sometimes goes through a spiritual tornado alley. When I meet the storm, I get frustrated, and I think everyone does. I blame God (and myself), then when I'm calmed down, I seek His strength to get through it. Yes, everything happens for a reason, and not only that, but everything will together for the good of them that love Him. This is what I find saddest about those who do not believe or do not love Him: They do not share in this promise, and their tragedies are just that, and their joys are just that. They're stuck with whatever comes, and it will all work against them in the end. It's tragic.

i love this song.... sometimes when i am feeling overwhelmed and defeated, i just listen to it. i believe that everything happens for a reason and although, we go through times of trial and pain. we are going to OK.

Bring The Rain Lyrics
Artist(Band):MercyMe Review The Song

I can count a million times
People asking me how I
Can praise You with all that
I've gone through
The question just amazes me
Can circumstances possibly
Change who I forever am in You

Maybe since my life was changed
Long before these rainy days
It's never really ever crossed my mind
To turn my back on you, oh Lord
My only shelter from the storm
But instead I draw closer through these times
So I pray

Bring me joy, bring me peace
Bring the chance to be free
Bring me anything that brings
You glory And I know there'll
be days When this life brings me pain
But if that's what it takes to
praise You Jesus, bring the rain

I am yours regardless of the clouds that may
loom above because you are much greater than
my pain you who made a way for me suffering
your destiny so tell me whats a little rain

[1st Chorus]

Holy, holy, holy
Holy, holy, holy
is the lord God almighty
is the lord God almighty
I'm forever singing

[2nd Chorus 2x]

everybody singing
Holy holy holy
you are holy
you are holy

I'm not giving you a Christian answer here, but hopefully it will be a helpful one.

One of the things that irks me the most about some religions is the belief that bad things happen as the result of God punishing you or reminding you of some moral point.

Hogwash!

I hate to see people add guilt to misfortune. I also hate to see people praise God for their lives when a tornado destroys everything they own. If you are responsible for any of your misfortune, learn from it and avoid it in the future. Guilt doesn't help anything. Fix the problem if it is fixable.

If you are the victim of circumstances or what people would call "an act of God," (sheesh!), then you deserve help and sympathy.

I hope your life gets better, but never, NEVER resign yourself to disaster because you believe God is doing it or allowing it. Don't avoid fixing things either, simply because you think God will do it for you when he decides you are worth it.

I pray for help! Trials are meant to strengthen you, I believe God doesn't send us anything He knows we can't get through. Life is a test, and what is a test without a few hard problems thrown in there. He is here to help us if we ask Him, and sometimes even if we don't. I agree everything happens for a reason.

My initial reaction is actually to shut down for a while - I have to fight for control over the thoughts that invade my mind.

Once I regroup, I have a talk with the Lord. I guess you could call it praying, but it's more like chatting with someone very close to me, Who knows me intimately.

Then I take stock - what is in my control to improve the situation, and what isn't? What IS in my control, it's up to me to put that into action. What ISN'T in my control, I lift up to God and place it in His hands - and leave it there.

I HEARD THIS ILLUSTRATION ONCE THAT I LIKE. WHEN THE WALLS COME IN AROUND YOU THERE'S ALWAYS AN OPENING AT THE TOP, TO LOOK UP TO GOD AND PRAY.

"Acts 14:22 (Young's Literal Translation)
confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting to remain in the faith, and that through many tribulations it behoveth us to enter into the reign of God, "

Acts 14:22 (New International Version)
22 strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. "We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God," they said.

I have felt that way before and of course I call on the Lord. It's His way of telling me to get my act together and fall on my knees more.
Greater is he that is in Me than he that is in the world.

the storm is so that you will turn back to Him. When things are going well we tend to take credit for ourselves and the "storms" are to help keep our faith strong.
