I was reading a quote from Kin Hubbard:

Don't knock the weather. If it didn't change once in a while, nine out of ten people couldn't start a conversation.

When people say "don't knock" something, it usually means not to criticize it too harshly. "Don't knock it 'till you've tried it" means not to disregard or denigrate something before you've experienced it.

Don't "dis" the weather or don't complain about the weather.
