Cosby Show. They had 5 kids who were all different ages, so you could relate to at least one of them. They followed the kids going to college, getting married, having kids, going to school dances, dating, interacting with their friends.....etc. Cosby show dealt with bigger issues, like underage drinking, but they did it in a way where it was comical all while getting the point across.

Of those three, I'll vote for the Huxtable home life!

The Cosby show was much funnier, especially in it's first few seasons when the little kids were younger. The Cosby Show did a great job of breaking stereotypes and dealing with a wide range of issues from the silly to the serious, and keeping everything enjoyable.

But I don't rate it as best family sitcom of the 80's- that honor goes to Family Ties with the Keaton family!! There is no TV character from that era who beats Michael J. Fox as Alex :)

I think the Cosby show's insistence on ALWAYS showing positive role models and "holding the line" against existing stereotypes sometimes worked against it. Utlimately being too preoccupied with educating or uplifting, while socially admirable- costs you points in the realism and funny columns. You don't have to go overboard and live on crude humor like Married with Children or the Simpsons, but sometimes being willing to dip your toes into those comedic waters of borderline taste, makes a show better.

Look at shows from a decade later like Seinfeld, Malcolm in the Middle etc- they weren't afraid to display the neurotic, petty side of human beings and ruffle some politically correct feathers- heck, they relished the opportunity! They were more interested in entertaining than anything else, and it shows.

Cosby show! I've seen all the episodes over and over again. It's simply a great family show! It deals with very realistic issues, and is hilarious along the way. Not to mention it's got the brilliant comedian Bill Cosby as the star.

I think the Cosby Show. It had a great cast and great writers and of course the Great Bill Cosby . I loved the way he was with kids . He had such a way with them and you can really tell he enjoyed acting with them . Full house was ok but I liked Family Matters better . I liked the Dad and Urkle the best .Good shows .

Cosby Show was awesome - you can watch reruns even today and laugh! Full House and Family Matters tried to be modern-day versions of Cosby and both of them failed big time. Cosby was the best!!

Tough question. I liked all three. But, I find that I like 'Full House' because of the Olsen twins and John Stamos. I also watch him on ER, but find that I liked him better on 'Full House'. The Olsen girls were so cute when they did the baby and tottler Michelle. Whoever wrote this sitcom, did a good job.

I also liked 'Family Matters' because of Urkel (Jaleel White) who I thought made the show because of all the crazy antics he did. He really was a great actor in that show.

I still watch the reruns of these shows every afternoon, and they still make me laugh. Whoever wrote this sitcom had to have a crazy sense of humor. Maybe 'Urkel' was a character from his real life!!!! :)

Definitely the Cosby show - it is classic, funny and truly good to watch. I can't stand those other 2 shows.
