It's probably just dandruff--no need to worry. If you suspect you have lice though, ask someone to put on gloves and look at the top of your head. If they see any bugs, then go to the doctor immediately and they will give you a shampoo to kill the lice.

Yes. Or it can possibly be residue shampoo that just didn't get washed out thoroughly. To check and see if you have lice, look around your hairline and see if you see more freckles than usual. I know that sounds disgusting, but that is what happens. If you do, go to the closest drug store and buy the lice shampoo and you also need to get something for your sheets. They jump around and they will live in your sheets. My little sister had lice and passed it to the whole family and her entire class. It doesn't mean that you're dirty. Lice actually are attracted to clean hair and not dirty hair. So good luck with everything and I hope that I helped a little. If you have any other questions, contact your family doctor.

If it doesn't it, chances are it isn't lice. If you're not sure, you can go buy a Tree Oil shampoo [that stuff stinks] and it kills all living lice.
How I know that?
I had lice in January, and it was the most annoying thing ever. I got out of school for a while, but right when I got back I got in school suspension for freaking out at the staff. =]
Incompetant stoners.
Anyways, if it's lice and you have long hair that you wear down alot, you'll have marks on your neck/back, behind your ears and numerous places.
At the top of a hair shaft, there's a tiny little white thing, and nits [not a louse bug, but the egg] are shiny. Hide it under the light to make sure it doesn't glitter.

Try to taste some of the flakes. Lice have a very distinct flavor. Almost like chicken.

Lice eggs would be at the base of the hair shaft not on the tips.

It could be a product your using, some mousse dries up and leaves white bits in your hair. same with shampoo if you don't wash it out. get someone to look in your hair or go see your GP

you might just have some type of dandruff, try using a special shampoo for it, like head&shoulders, for a week or so. if it doesnt start to clear up, get checked out by a doctor just in case.

those little white things you see are eggs, and will hatch if you don't get professional help.
