Many reasons.
Everyone there will believe in Jesus as the Christ.
Evil is not allowed there.
I won't be subject to Vile Temptresses.
All my thoughts will be pure, I wish I could say that now.
My body won't ache anymore.
I have been looking forward to Rosh Hashanah every year hoping that it is this Rosh Hashanah that the church will be taken up into the heavens to be with the Lord.
Yes, it could be that I die instead of taken up, but if that is the will of God, then that is what will happen.
Doug, a reality that does not include God really would suck to us. I am so glad that you know better than the 2.14 billion of us who embrace Christianity. Who is it that enlightened you with that revelation?

I'm not afraid to die. I've spent a good many years of my past praying for just that. But I'm older now, and a little wiser, and realize that there are things to do in life that I really, really want to do. Now I just pray to eventually die happy.

Sadly there are a number of psychotically deranged believers who keep proving they aren't afraid to die to get to heaven.

For many people, death scares the absolute crap out of them, so they like to make up stories (that there is a place called Heaven that you go to when you die) to make themselves feel better.

Because everyone want happiness. They are afraid to die because of the fear of the unknown.

Why would I want to go to anywhere else?
I'm not afraid to die. Eventhough I'm not finished with what I am supposed to do here, if it were my time, it would be my time to go. GOD has the final say. Why do you think we're afraid to die?

after going to parish school of religion (im catholic) they explained this very question to me. heaven is not a place, but a state of being where you are eternally living with god the father and living a loving and sin free afterlife. yep, thats about as best as i can explain it.
anyone got problems with that answer?
email me im not shy for a little debate(:

Picture this a slab of meat on a rotisserie ever cooking and never getting done. Tied down screaming, no tears because the flames keeps them dried up. and your neighbor next to you screaming like wise. and as far as you can see nothing but flames and people being cooked screaming, cursing, in agony and never getting done.
