These all happened several years ago, since then i have finished college and received my degree. I have also had no trouble with the law in 3 1/2 years. Is there anychance i can get a waiver? The first dui diversion was in 2001 and the mips happened in 2002 when i was 19. Now at 24 i am alot more mature and I really want to be able to serve my country.

I talked to a recruiter and they said I would have to wait two years, so is there anything I can do to get around this? I know I screwed up in the past, but that is not who I am now and I know I can be a good leader if given the opportunity.

Go to rehab first and get some paper work say'n you completed. As so enroll into AA so you do not relapse. Then go talk to a recruiter.

they are going to be a hard thing to get past. the Army will look at the fact that not once but TWICE you were arrested for DUI and the three MiPs hurt more. there should never have been any more than the first charge, whatever it was.. instead you went off and got 4 more. Didn't learn your lesson in the eyes of the military.

there is NO getting around the 2 year wait. you screwed up, now you get to reap the consequences of your actions, yes, even though it has been several years later.

first question the army (or any branch for that matter) would be are any of them Felony convictions and the exact dates. Also are there any other troubles as far as law enforcement goes. Best advice would be to sit down (don't call) your local recruiter, tell him or her exactly what happened full details. yes there are waivers out there but this also depends on each individual case. If any convictions are felonies may be a little harder, but may be able to help you out. Good Luck

If anything happened when you were not an adult it does not count. Check with your local police department to get an actual look at your criminal record. I had some stuff on my record and when I joined and they did a check it was gone. You may not be able to enlist in certain jobs, i.e. intel, but you should be able to. If the two DUI's were not felonies, or only one was, and maybe two of the other happened when you were 17, you should be able to. Go to www.goarmy.com and they have online chat where you can actually chat with a recruiter.

Do what the Recruiter said, wait 2 years, then go and sit down with another US Army Recruiter and
get more up to date information. Waiting 2 years would be more beneficial to you.

There will be a lot of waivers to fill out. It's been a long time so instead of guessing I'd say go see a recruiter and see what you will need to do. Don't expect it go quickly though.
