my family went through immigration, we got our legal status and then came to america to work hard, why do some think that the illegals should not have to go through the same process that my family did ten years ago to come here, were are poor and we waited, just like 1000s of hispanics did before us

Illegals are not special but they sure do demand to be treated as such, don't they!? As far as Americans go, the only ones I would be willing to call "special" are our troops in Iraq. How special is it that these illegals are charging open borders to a country that is at war demanding everything that they have no right to? Sounds "special" alright but not the kind of special you mean.

It's not so special as it being right down the street. Add to that the need of the Mexican government for the last fifty years to export it's poverty so that we in the USA will provide both for the schooling, health care or it's people. The very illegals that might have a uprising to unseat the repressive government that gives it's citizens maps for greener pastures.
Then there is the USA ruling class that's wants to satisfy the business class, thirst for cheap labor to increase their bottom line. This is all at the expense of the middle class that is seeing their good jobs being sent over seas, and jobs at home being undercut by cheap labor in the trades by the illegals. The to add insult to injure, we as middle class tax payers have to pay for the schooling, and other social services for the illegals and their families

They are cheap labor, something the powers that be in the USA love. And while supposedly the people (workers) should control the country due to them being more numerous, the powers that be control it due to having tons of dough and controlling politicians. This is why the politicians have allowed our country to be invaded under the guise that its good for business. But our country has a tradition of law and order (which illegal aliens spit at) and a tradition of free enterprise-markert mechanism determines prices, etc.. (which the powers that be claim they are encouraging with the illegals influx). But the illegals influx is actually racqueteering in that it interferes with the free market mechanism of our country. Labor and Business are not negotiating fairly since, and wages are no longer determined by supply and demand of american labor. Wages are interfered with by flooding the market with citizens of mexico who will work dirt cheap, thus forcing americans out of work or to accept lower wages to work. This is called racqueteering and is actually a jailable offense...at least it was at one time in america. But there have not been too many anti business policies or pro labor policies in the USA in a while now.

Our government must think they are more special than the rest of us because they let them get away with breaking the law. Personally, I don't think criminals are very special.

While the pro-illegal crowd says they aren't criminals, I don't know what else to call someone that breaks numerous laws! (I'll probably get thumbs down for this but it is still the truth.)

I don't know what makes illegals so special.
I thank you for taking all the proper and correct steps. I do know a female that recently got her citizenship, and I salute her as well.

The only "pro" argument I hear about illegals is they do the jobs most Americans don't want. My personal feelings on this is it may be true, but that there are people in the U.S. that are on welfare and could use these jobs so they can begin the process of moving on.

Absolutely nothing, they are irreverant, disrespectful, take, take, take kind of people. The only way they are special is to themselves. When they learn that they can't make Americans do anything to forward their illegal stance and all is in place, they'll realize they can't really make it here. Hopefully as soon as tomorrow but defintiely by 2008!

They aren't. Legal immigrants are the ones who have my respect. By the way your English is good. Respect! I have no respect for people who believe they have the right to jump over everyone else in line.

Thank you for being honest. My husband also did it the legal way and it makes him angry to see people disrepecting the laws.My husband is not Hispanic but that doesn't matter, what matters is that all immigrants should come the legal way.

The only thing that makes a criminal special are the laws they break.
