Why would Jesus say such a thing if He is God?

Please explain this to me.

I think I can only understand this 'Jesus is not God' 'But he will become/ has become God' belief if I think about this man as behaving in a righteous ideal manner for a human as a human.

Thus His intent and actions reflected those that the Christian God had/has.

Therefore if someone were to think and behave as righteously as Jesus, could they too become God in the form of man?

Please don't all shout at me at once.

Jesus was one with God as they had the same purpose just as you or i become one or a team if you like if we work together towards one goal.

You are certainly thinking on the right track

Jesus was stirring the mind as to realize that Jesus was God manifested in the flesh.

Do you notice that Jesus does not deny that He is good nor does He reprimand anyone for asking the question?

There are those that cannot comprehend this concept because it can only be discerned by the Spirit of the living God that is invited to live inside a person.

John 1:1-5
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

He was with God in the beginning.

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

In him was life, and that life was the light of men.

The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

This is because Jesus was living an example on how we ought to live, the scriptures say; "Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obidient to death even death on a cross! Therefore God has exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." Phillipians 2:6-11 God bless.

Jesus teaches about how he is one with GOD and how we can also be one with GOD. But, he also shows distinctions between the father and the son. In this scripture he is showing another dinstinction between him and the father. He has never actually said he is GOD. that is an attribute given him by men. But, like I said, he did talk about being one with GOD. These are complex concepts to try to understand, but only because we make them complex. How can we be one with GOD and not be GOD? How can we be a part of the body of Christ and not be Christ. Does someone look at my arm and say 'that's Rob'? Are we all GOD? Are we all Christ? Do any of these questions have any bearing on my salvation or even my spiritual health? Paul came to the greeks and criticized them for overanalyzing GOD instead of just enjoying the blessings that GOD gives us. maybe we should take that advice and stop trying so hard to figure GOD out

In this scripture he says the only thing good is GOD. GOD is spirit, man is flesh. Yet, within all of us, there is the spirit of GOD. And when we live according to the will of that spirit, we are living acording to the will of GOD and thus become one with GOD. the flesh is never one with GOD. It always contradicts the will of GOD. Jesus was both spirit and flesh, just as every man is. yet, he lived according to 'the will of my father'. So, he was one with his father. However, he was still of flesh, which is subject to the temptations of Satan.

Jesus often spoke of these two worlds within himself. Try to keep it in context.

God is the Father of Jesus, Jesus is also an integrated part of the trinity. Jesus only said that His Father told Him to say. God is good and without sin. Jesus was not jet glorified and united with His Father in Heaven. God Bless you.

Jesus was "amazed" that this man, who knew nothing about Him, would call Him "Good" This man thought he was speaking to a prophet, not realizing he was speaking to God Almighty. The meaning is: If you don't know Me, how do you know I Am good? Only God Almighty is good. Jesus wanted to know if the man recognized Him as God Almighty.

If you are a serious seeker. Read these verses prayerfully and you will understand while The Son of God was in this flesh He would not accept the praise of being, "good."

These verse explain and answer your question.

I think it would be appropriate for more Christians on R&S to answer with scripture when possible.

John 14:8-9 8 Philip suggested, "Lord, teach us the daddy and which would be adequate for us." 9 Jesus responded: "do no longer you recognize me, Philip, even when I even have been between you this sort of long term? every physique who has seen me has seen the daddy. how are you able to declare, 'teach us the daddy'? EDIT: I settle for Him as God by using fact it particularly is how He revealed Himself ! i replaced into A Jehovah's Witness for some years as quickly as I did no longer know God or the Bible ! i'm no longer a Prisoner of their twisted doctrines. considered one of their significant Doctrinal focuses is to minimize the functionality of Jesus by using fact the only thank you to the daddy ! God under no circumstances existed in a physique like ours till He decreased Himself and became Flesh, then as quickly as Flesh He did walk, stay and whilst between us Die for us ! He ascended into Heaven as He replaced into, interior the recent Resurrected Flesh, a clean introduction under no circumstances in the previous seen ! completely God and fully guy !

The rich young ruler was focused on himself. Jesus was trying to change his focus to God. The issue had nothing to do with Jesus being God in the flesh.

This is an indirect question of the deity of Jesus Christ. The man is asking what he must do to be saved, and we have to know and ask in our hearts that Jesus is a part of the trinity of God. We have to have revalation of His deity.

Therefore, he is asking the man, to seek what is good, and truth.
