I don't like to throw it in a trash bin. I thought I was doing it right by flushing it, but I have concerns of whether this is a good practice.

I once read it it could damage septic systems. Others tell me that we could get sick using the toilet where dog poop has been flushed.

Hi Addy, not only is it OK it is the greenest way to dispose of it cos it gets 'treated' like human waste. Over here in the UK there is around 10,000 tons of non-degradable dog waste in plastic bags occupying landfill EVERY MONTH! So if you are from the USA then you can multiply that by around 50.

yes flush it it is cleaner. the reason why i say this is the poop does not stay in the house it just gets flushed. show her this ok the bottom part hay you cant give a dog away just because your brother doesnt flush the poop if you do you have a chance that the dog might really miss you guyies and become depressed. really don't be so controlling. you are not his mom. having a dog is not a game that is a life you will mess up if you just give away.

I hear every excuse in the book when people phone wanting to bring their rottie into rescue, but I must say, I haven't heard that one before !

i flush dog poop when my dogs poop in the house and i pick it up with paper towel or toilet paper. You just have to be careful if you have a big dog not to put too much in there at once, and paper towel down the toilet is a bad idea

You flush your poop down the toilet so why would it be different for a dog.. Use some common sense people...

If properly trained, they should also understand whistle and gesture equivalents for all the relevant commands, e.g. short whistle or finger raised sit, long whistle or flat hand lay down, and so on.
It's important that they also get gestures and whistles as voice may not be sufficient over long distances and under certain circumstances.

When mine have accidents in the house, I always flush it.. so it doesnt sit in a trash can and stink.
"its just poop".. I use toilet paper to clean it up.. I will also use TP to soak up urine spots and flush that too.
Just dont flush paper towels.. or you will have a clogged toilet!

I do it all the time but make sure your picking it up with toilet paper and not thick paper towels otherwise it won't flush. But there is nothing wrong with flushing pet waste in the toilet, we flush our waste down the toilet.
