I once lived on a remote Pacific Island, located 825 miles from the next point of land. Some people seemed to develop "island fever," and easily became outraged at the smallest possible comment or inconvenience. We called them HOPO, which was short for "highly outraged and personally offended." Some people seemed to have been HOPO from youth, but every one of us could become HOPO when under stress. Cheers

I suppose it's for the same reason people becom hostile and rude in traffic: they are dealing with others, but there is a buffer between them, thus lowering the chances of a fist in the eye. Yup, it's kinda cowardly. but it's an easy trap to fall into. Myself, I really do believe in manners, but I've given answers that got a little sarcastic. Even while writing them down, I've felt not-quite-right about it. And afterwards, I usually wish I'd worded it better.

WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT YOU IDIOT?! Only joking lol! I don't know, I think some people are just so caught up in their own opinions, and so fervent about convincing others that they are right, that they just forget to sit back and consider the facts. A lot of people now are so caught up in the religion and morals debate that they often carry it too far, and something as silly as a children's book becomes the target of a lot of heated discussion. Crazy, isn't it?

A professor once said that there were no stupid questions, but many people gave stupid answers. It was her way to remind us to think about our answers.

They are in a hurry to answer a question that they don't stop long enough to think over on what they wrote. :(
